    Default Paypal & Pachinko/Pachislo Machines

Did anyone know that you can't buy a pachislo/ pachinko machine at all with paypal because it's against their Acceptable Use Policy. This is crazy reason I state this is because the Adams Family UK machine I got had wires cut and kept shorting out and that was the way I got it and I had an electician take a look at it and the machine is a fire hazard. Paypal states pachinko/pachislo constitutes gambling even though it's not against ebay policy to sell.

News to me. I now have 8 pachislos and 2 pachinkos and all were bought via Paypal. Why would it be against their acceptable use policy? My state (Michigan) allows the ownership of pachislos and pachinkos as well as 25-year-old slot machines. Nothing even remotely illegal owning pachis in Michigan.

    THIS PLACE ROCKS !

I thought you said that it was set to autoplay, and the coin mechs didn't function.

In which case it must have been modified so that it doesn't take coins or tokens, so is not covered by paypal's Gaming Machines policy

Crap. Arby, I guess we are both going to jail for violating the paypal policy!

Oh wait, I didn't buy a pachinko MACHINE from you... I just bought PARTS ... You know, a frame, and a couple of cells...

I doubt that paypal does any level of enforcement. They most likely just have that as a "cover your butt policy."

How about you do everyone a favor and not write Paypal and make a big stink about it. I've never heard of anyone having a problem with this... and that would likely continue unless someone brings it to Paypal's attention. Just tape the wires and stop zapping yourself.

Well it's limiting slot machines. These are not slot machines they are pachislos. According to my state anyway, they do not meet the criteria to be a slot machine. Pachinkos fall into no category that I read in that statement. So it's paypal for me!

any decent electrician should be able to fix any wiring problem.

if the wires are shorting out they need replacement or taping up.

you didn't try to enable the coin acceptor, did you!!!

paypal has that for legal purposes, they don't want to refund your money!!

Yeah but most of them don't have any experience of arcade machines (and those that do, probably have never set eyes on a UK fruit machine). So rather than make the effort of taking the time to work out which wire does what, and where the disconnected wires are meant to go (and be sure enough that they've got it right, that they are willing to stake their liability insurance premium on it), they scratch their head, suck some air through their teeth and say that some cowboy's hacked all the wiring, and it looks dangerous and will probably set fire to your home.

Best advice in this situation is that if you're not technically competant to fix this kind of thing yourself (or are good friends with someone who can!), then buy from a gameroom supply business that stands by their products and offers a solid warranty.

If you buy from any random eBay listing, then expect to get any random machine, in any random condition. Also don't expect eBay or Paypal to be any help in sorting out the mess that you're left with, as the seller will just say that they'll refund the purchase price once the machine is back in their possession. So if you're going to be out two lots of shipping fees, you might as well keep it and chalk it up to experience.

Dude not to be an a$s or anything but it seems like everything you buy is El' Junk and messed up... at least those cool bikes you won worked too bad ya sold them, the next set you get the wheels will probably fall off and the headlight will "electrocute you"

The next machine I think you better buy something from Arby (hehehehe Arby will like that one).

    HELLO ! ! !

This is a paragraph from that PAY-PAL statement :

PayPal allows approved gambling merchants to use our service in certain jurisdictions where gambling activities are legal. To be approved by PayPal, merchants must demonstrate to PayPal's satisfaction that they have the ability to block gambling activities for account holders in the U.S. and any jurisdiction where gambling activities may be illegal.

Hence the Statement you must put in the auction about machines that do not and "can not be readily converted for use of U.S. currency" and the listing of States that Pachislo's can not be shipped to and why auctions that don't post this are pulled.

I.E. --- Rollercoaster you have to "READ THE FINE PRINT"

There is no problem from PAY-PAL's statement about Pachinko's and Pachislo's and Palot's as long as the statements are in the auction..

If you ever wanted to but something from ARBY and were worried about using PAY-PAL Arby might let you pay for it in Cookies. But it would have to be ALLOT of Cookies ! ! !
