Default Different playfields for the same machine?

I discovered last night that some machines have different playfields (artwork) for the same game. For example, there are two different Star Wars graphics. One with X-Wing fighters, and the other with Darth Vader and C3PO. Same for Indiana Jones, two different backgrounds. One is red with Indy on it, and the other is blue with Indy and his dad on it.

What was the reason for this? Purely variety, or were there some sort of "behind the scenes" changes too, like one is configured a little different, or maybe different product runs?

    Just wondering.

Nick, I have seen the differences too.
Some of these machines have different odds or a different pay-out rate.

Yes I believe that there are sometimes 2 or more versions of the same machine
giving differents ball pay outs, etc

I'm sure it's been mentioned a few times here,

Look at the Star Wars stats card in the large SW folder, it shows the different mod number with what fronts. As said it is different odds and payouts. The best one is the ZF models

Yeah, Arby set me up with the ZF Star Wars, and the SF Indy. I like the looks of these playfields more than the other options so I am cool with that. Thanks for the tips.

My Magic Lamp comes in about 5 or 6 differnt style cells, and payout is a little different on each of them.

When browsing in the museum links to the different models will be within the framed page itself. On the nifty frame it's just below the odds setting if they have multiple models. Click those links and it should still remain translated.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

Thanks. It sounds like I have the "Full Spec" Star Wars and Indy. Can't tell on my Julie yet. It is an S-027 model...

    That's just a series number, it's an MF-T, SF-T1 or SF-T2

I'll have to check it out closer to find out which one it is. Not that it matters a whole lot to me. I am just curious.

My Julie is the MF-T version. Not sure if that is the half or full spec..
