Default Semi vs. full cyclic vs. ball lifter...

Wow my 2nd post all in the same day...

O.k., got my Yamato 2 in a nice standing cabinet & done some research here on the forum & found some EXCELLENT tutorials on semi & full cyclic conversion & also p/u on the ball lifters like Arby's.

In a nutshell this is what I understand:

Full cyclic - use 30-50 balls everything comes out top tray, no reloading, also no payout exitement.

Semi - No more reloading from back. Eliminating reaching around back but must watch & maintain front bottom tray so no back-ups into playfield. Currently I customized a semi-large lip-o-seal container to contain rear balls & minimize reloads - using 1000+ balls.

Ball lifter - no more reaching around back balls auto go to top hopper.

O.k. if the above is right I'm confused mostly as to ball lift operation.

I'd love to still have the payout excitement so full cyclic is out unless I get a cute 1 for my daughter...

Semi seems to be just as much movement in reloading just not reaching around back - good I guess if I wall mount...

    But using a ball lifter:
    1) Does it always continue to lift balls - ie could the top hopper overflow?

    2) After payouts I assume the top hopper must be refilled?

    3) As I run out of balls to shoot from top tray where do I replenish if all are in machine?

    1.
there is a switch that is pressure release so it doesn't overload

    2.
if you don't have a resurve tank .

    3.
the lifter takes the spent balls and lifts them to the top.
and add DaveRob's Dongle and you should not have to touch a ball, but only when you win, with out a reserve tank.

Arby, thanks so much, could u help me w/ the reserve tank & dongle explanation? Is my Yamato 2 a machine I can dongle (now that sounds funny)?

By reserve tank do u mean more or less an extension of the top hopper to accomodate way more balls?

Sorry to bother anyone, haven't found anyone locally yet w/ any pachi's & the folks I bought it from were minimal at best in providing info / help.

you could also do the paint tray mod, lift the machine similar to Arby's pictures with just wood or make a cabinet.

place a paint tray underneath with a mouse pad glued to it, the balls drop into the tray and roll to the front for easy refilling of top hopper, you can also dump your excess balls won into it from the front.

    here's how I did it

    I'm following this thread too...

Is there a hole in the bottom of the clear tupperware container feeding the ball lifter? How do the "winning balls" get to that hopper, do you have a hole from the front of the machine or is that a manual process?

    Thanks, you guys are awesome!

On the ball lifter the clear tupperware container thru a small hole drops ball into the lifter. It carrys your extra balls so you can have a fever without stoping to reball the machine.

Whether you belong to the good forces of T.U.L.S.A. fighting for the betterment of pachi everywhere or you belong to U.G.L.Y. fighting for the right to date sheep whenever and whatever the age, you're one of T.H.E.M., just depends on which side you're referring to.

    Your Spinning again...

anyway on the topic of T.H.E.M.

    Id have to disagree there..

    T.H.E.M. has a distinct reference...

had you used them then you would be correct..
