Default Seating Ideas for Playing Pachinko Bar Stools Barstools

Seating is an important consideration when playing pachinko as the game tends to lock you into one position.

The photos of various pachinko parlors show fixed seating arrangements. I think I would have a problem fitting my bones into some parlor chairs.

A regular chair has a seating height of 18 to 20 inches and seems too low.
Most swivel office chairs can be adjusted up to 23 inches which is better, but the ergonomics still aren't exactly right for a six foot tall body frame.

A 24 inch bar stool approaches the correct height while a 30 inch stool perch is too high for pachinko but usually works well for pachislo.

I have tried the Walmart 9.99 24 inch folding barstool. It is great for short term play and easy storage but it lacks the cushioning and width for long play.

I have a couple of adjustable height draftsman chairs ordered that I will post a few comments about after they arrive.

What have you found to be the best solution to comfortable seating for those marathon pachinko sessions?

I bought 6 stools (comes in natural and cherry finishes)from Target this week (1/2-1/8). They have a sale where you can get a 24 or 29 inch stool for $15 and a bar stool cover for an extra $7. I have four 29 inch for the four player arcade, and two 24 inch for the Pachinko. They are very comfortable and cheap. They are so cheap. I'm thinking of painting each stool to match the machines. No backing though.

The most comfortable seat I found are the swivel bar stools at Oak Express with a backing. You can literately sit in one position for hours. Unfortunately the wife won't let me take those from the kitchen to the game room. Those very in price from $89 and up depending on style and height. I may pick up some for the Pachinko...I tend to lean forward while playing on the arcade so a backing would not benefit that situation.

This is the best chair I have found for up and down and back support.
Add the rollers and you got the best. It is not cheap, but my back is not ether at my age.

Wow! Thanks, David. These stools are just what I was looking for and at a good price. :smt041 I called and chatted with them and opted for the 3rd highest quality vinyl in a muted red to match the pool table. They're on order! Here's a pic. The ones I ordered are like the red one shown for appx. $60 each:

Someone posted them on the old way long ago and I thought they were such a good price and selection I kept the link in my favorites!

Glad I did and that someone ordered some!

Argh! The website said shipping would run approximately 10% of the order, I had upped my order to 4 stools at $60 each for $240 and was expecting $24 shipping charges which is what was actually on my invoice from them. (They had a disclaimer that if shipping were more they would contact me.)

Today they sent me an email and were going to bill me $174 in shipping! Over $40/stool. I called them back and told them to cancel. They said that stools are oversized and expensive to ship. Hello??? :-? How about telling people that on the website then! :-x

    Dear Slotter,

I decided on a quality drafting chair for my game room. Here is a link to the site:
    http://www.jsfonline.com/

Jill Sweeny is the proprietor on the site and they have auctions and Buy it Nows on eBay all the time. The model I picked had a seating rating for all day work use--the best--as I will sit and play for up to 2 or 3 hours at a time. Drafting chairs are great because I can change my seating height depending upon whether I am playing the pachislos or the pachinkos. I discovered that regular office chairs lacked the height for comfortable game play.

The chair I bought came with carpet casters, adjustable heavy duty seat lift, adjustable seat back, adjustable arms and adjustable foot rest. It is in black fabric with an oversized seat and extra thick seat padding. As I recall the chair was about $97 and Shipping from Calif to Alabama about $25 per chair.

Jill is a nice person to do business with and I would highly recommend the chair I purchased. It is darn comfortable and won't give you "flat butt " like most cheap office chairs do.

Here are a few pictures of the chair in my game room. My wife, Carolyn agreed to try out the chair and ended up playing The Terminator slot for and hour and a half with no discomfort. She finally hit Triple 7's and quit but Arnold reminded her he will be back.

In this picture the chair is in a low position but the right armrest is set so she has a way to support her arm while she launches the pachinko balls.

This is a picture of the chair in its low seating height of 23 inches.

This is a shot of the chair near maximum elevation of 33 inches.

The adjustable arm rest is a big plus. Here it is in the lowest positio followed by a shot of the hihest position. This is a great help when playing pachinko.

    High position:

Here Carolyn has adjusted the left arm rest higher than the right so that she can easily do the max bet, spin, stop sequence.

I hope this helps in your decision making.

Last time I was in Costco they had a ergo chair just like Bilko's but more padding in the seat. The arms adjust like that one also. Very comfortable but I think it was like 85.00.

OK, here are the stools I ended up buying. I didn't want to post about the stools until they came in and I assembled them and looked 'em over. They are pretty darn nice, especially considering the low cost! 8-)

Very cool retro look with the chrome and rose-red seat. The price is right, too: 2 for $98.99 plus $24 per 2-pack shipped to Iowa! I bought 4 of them and will probably need more the way thinigs are going.

    Good Evening Everyone,
I used to buy a lot of stuff from Viking Office Products for several reasons... Great prices, no sales tax, and free shipping. They have local stores most everywhere nowdays called Office Depot so you might not get "no sales tax" on an order if they have stores in your state. Viking prices were cheaper than the same items in the stores too. I bought several chairs from them, you might find something you like on their website WWW.Viking.com

and here's a link to page with chairs.....
