    Default Cabinet & Glass

I got a pachinko on e-bay but it was damaged in shipping (Glass broke, Cabinet destroyed) and was wondering if anyone had any advice on building a cabinet. Also is it acceptable to replace the glass with lexan? Plans for a cabinet would be great! Thanks in advance!

    First Welcome to Pachitalk!

Is the machine Modern or Vintage?

For cabinet plans search the forums or check the Journals there is plenty of info Plans ,Pics etc.

Lexan or Plexi is just fine. It could be more expensive than glass! (Glass is my preference and I use Plexi alot for many things but Pachinko cells is not one of them).

It depends on what you mean by "cabinet". Usually stuff on ebay doesn't come in a cabinet...just the machine in its frame. If the frame is destroyed you'll probably need to replace plastic parts, lights..all kinds of stuff. If it's that, there are no plans. The plans you will find here are for cabinets built to hold a complete standard pachinko frame.

Post some pics of your machine, that will help. Sorry you got a bad shipment...it's happened to all of us at one time or another. Check with the seller too. Most will cover damages during shipping.

Pics would be good and then more specific advice might be given to help you...

The 'Journals' and the 'Cabinet Thread' are good places to start, and there is also an excellent 'Search Function' above too

Thanks, The seller actually refunded 100% of my money including shipping and let me keep the machine on top of the refund! No complaints with the seller at all! He was using a drop shipper who just did not know how to package this machine at all. The frame is okay, it's the cabinet that held the frame that broke and the glass of course. I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet but I will as soon as possible. It's a Heiwa, definately not new or a maturi like the ad described but it is working except for the glass and it has a video screen so it's not the vintage variety. I'll get pictures up sooner or later.

    Sounds like a good seller!

What machine is it? If it uses the standard squarish glass that slides into the door, it's a simple fix. You can just go to your nearest Lowes and have them cut you a replacement.

While you're there, pick up some wood and build a new cabinet!

It's a Heiwa and yes it is the kind that the glass slides into the door. I was going to measure it and have it cut out of lexan or glass but it looks like the area it slides into is extremely narrow leaving little room for error. Im pretty sure I can measure accurately but I have my doubts as to the ability of the local hardware guys to cut it accurately.

make sure they cut it the exact size you want, I went in and gave the hardware guy my measurements, and he cut it a little smaller to make sure it would fit.

then it was loose in the frame

Some thin rubber gasket or foam material should tighten that up and make the sound much nicer too!
