Smile My proposed Pachinko Cabinet (based on Kens plan)

Well this is just some of my thoughts on the cabinet it is based on Kens cabinet plans. I will be changing things and be using some of Young Jedi's stuff too...

What I have added isn't to much too scale and the 27" base height isn't firm yet until I get the machine here and can hold it up and figure what's comfortable. Naturally the whole cabinet will be lagged a few times to the wall because of it wanting to tip, etc.

I had second thoughts on hanging it on the wall (as I said before studs are 24" o.c. and the top of the wall is plant shelf which means it doesn't run to the ceiling and top plate).

    Your thoughts are appreciated!

Looks good. Wall mounting with 24" studs wouldn't be easy. You'll have to have the french cleat exposed beyond the sides of the cabinet. You'd also have to notch the back side of the cabinet. If you do it this way though, it makes mouting your 2nd, 3rd etc pachinko easier and you can keep them close to each other. A french cleat that spans 3 studs would hold three machines nicely with a small gap between them.

How is my height is that about right? or is that just a preference thing?

    Default Current case pics!

Ok things are coming along... I decided to change my plans on a case and I used MrGneiss plans (Thanks Rob for your site on the case!). I still have not built the base cabinet (it's in the works, slowly but surely).

I also need to build the little "hopper shut-off" thingy so I don't spill my balls

I have one of Devons Indy ball trays on the way too (Thanks Devon I can't wait till I get it!)

Here's what I have so far:

    Wow, I was useful???

Sorry that I haven't finished the site, my laptop with all the pics and info for it died last year and since I haven't been able to make any more cases since, I haven't been able to get new pics and such!!

That said, since I have 7 of these cases right next to me and a camera and tape measure within reach, if anyone has any questions about the case or the base, just ask right here and I will do my best to help...pics, measurements, etc...

I've got 5 "Designed by Rob" cases myself with a couple more waiting to be built!

It's a simple, yet excellent design which is made from readily available cuts of lumber. I think I've got it down to about an hour of work from raw stock to assembled cabinet, ready for finishing.

An hour huh? ummmm mine took a little longer than that

Slow and steady that's me  actually I have only been working on it here and there, my work bench is the shipping box that the pachinko came in!! (no that's no a joke either!)

Yeah I made a jig for cross cutting those 1x10's and 1x6's and have it marked exactly for each piece. It's zip zip with the table saw and on to assembly.
