    Default Pachinko Balls

First of all, I'm new here, hello everyone!

I inherited a vintage machine (Nishijin Sophia Super Deluxe) that I have just started restoring with the help of some good folks on craig's list and the few websites that are out there with free info. And now that I have found this wonderful forum I thought I'd join the club of the pachinko-obsessed, because I'm beginning to be!

My machine spent a good 20 or so years laying in a greenhouse. The Houston humidity did a number on the chrome and I think also caused the water clouds behind the playing surface. I spent all weekend cleaning/vacuuming the crud out of it (my husband thought I was crazy at first when I brought it home, but now that it's cleaned up a bit he's coming around!). I attached a picture of when I brought her home (she even came with some notebook paper inside).

Now, to actually start testing the jackpot etc., I need some pachinko balls. The few that were lodged in the machine originally are completely rusted. My question for you guys - are there stainless steel pachinko balls out there that won't rust? I found some "stainless steel" balls on slots direct, but wasn't sure if 1. they actually are stainless, 2. if they will work in my machine or will eventually destroy it, and 3. if they were the proper weight for a vintage machine. I did note that they were more expensive but was hoping to spend a little more now and a little less time later cleaning rust off. Any thoughts? How quickly do balls rust anyway? Thanks!

LD is right. you'd have to really abuse your machine and the inside of your house to get regular ones to rust.as long as you play your new baby regularly it will reward you with clean balls all the time!

    Welcome!.

Your machine looks pretty similar to my vintage. Good luck on saving it and bringing it back from the "near dead!"

The concept of PachiTalk was to bring together anyone and everyone who has a passion for these amazing Japanese creations. Once you stepped through the doors at PachiTalk.com, you become part of the Pachination.
You are no longer Japanese, American, English, Italian, German, etc. (If I missed you I am sorry). You are now considered a Pachinational, put that on an application! To our little slice of imported happiness!

And also if you get engraved balls, you know that you are getting the real thing.

Hey steph,,glad you made it ,did you readmy e
P balls are steel based ,,,then chrome coated
In our hot and humid weather here TX balls will rust fast if you dont protect them
A plastic folgers can is perfect for (manually spinning balls),when you buy some, load 1/3 full, put some mothers on a 6in.x6in. cotton tee shirt rag ,,put on floor in front of coffee table, and simply roll with foot,,Youll have to turn the volume up on the tele though
Even stainless will rust, and if they are saying that thier balls are made of S.S. I would have some doubts anyway
Somewhere here is a small vid of how balls are made

There are several places to get good balls. All will work in your machine and will not rust if kept dry (not in damp greenhouse). There may be some on the Pachitalk auction even!

I bought my last batch from DGI. They were super clean and arrived in two days with reasonable shipping.
