    Default SPIN LUCK-Wheel problems...Help! Please

In my continuing quest for the elusive 7777 it took forever to get a spin on the wheel. Once I hit the SL symbol, I hit the button to spin the wheel, and the dang thing didn't move. It sat on 200, but made all the noises like everything was fine. It said that it landed on 50 and that is what came up on the counter, but the wheel never moved. Anyone have a clue whats wrong with my wheel???

I hope you find out what is wrong whith yours, Willie, because mine is doing the exact same thing!

My problem is I can't open the door to check the wiring because the scum that broke into my house stole the key to it!

If ANYONE knows what to do, PLEASE let us know!

I don't have one of those, but just a thought...What's the weather like? Maybe it's too humid and the reel is slipping somehow? Just a guess.

Not a bad thought YoungJedi, but mine is in an airconditioned room. It's odd that three machines suddenly have the same problem.

its the 7-7-7-7 curse you tried to hard and now the machine's busted due to greed...seriously it sounds like a driver problem if resetting the machine enables the spinner ...im surprised you don't get an error when this happens this being the case it might just be the position sensor is shorted and the machine thinks it did turn and stop on the right spot its not like it is an important part of the game like the reels .so it might not be monitored as much ...clean your sensors and connections you might have a dust bunny hiding in your sensors ...better hope its something stupid like that its not like theres a bunch of parts machines for the picking on this one ..

Actually, someone did post a source for the spin wheel assemblies, from IGT I believe.

Ok I have a Spin Luck and have had no issues with it yet. however this is just an opinion and suggestion. if anyone knows what i am trying to compare this to than it will make sense. Ok some older cars had a certain type of windshield wiper assembly that the arm sat on and over time the rough insides where the motor spins the pin over time wears out. I guess what i am getting at is the motor that the wheel is mounted too could be going bad and slipping, you may need a new motor or if it is cheaper and you can find one the whole assembly but it sounds as though it's either that or a problem with the computer communicating with the board that spins the wheel and yes humidity usually does not like electronic components. I hope this helps? I enclosed a pic of the motor to disc assembly.

well not having a spin luck dosent help (if you would like to send one for evaluation purpases it would )

it may be worth waiting till its time for the disc to spin on a dodgy machine and just touching the edge of the disc as it is ment to spin and seeing if there is any slight vibration from the motor if so then i would put it down to teh motor being on its way not a control board or cable even give it a slight hand to spin and see if it trys to move

but a motor ususaly isnt manufactured for a single purpus ie just to spin the flexidisk in SL or HD so sorcing another motor shouldent be expensive or a problem but a controle bord would be a difrent case
My rice krispies told me to do it

I still think it is a connection somewhere or the wheel just hanging up.

these were made by IGT to last ages in the palours under 24/7 use.

Tony, when Kile comes over, have him open up you Spin Luck, they jam some cardboard in the latch assemby to keep it unlocked for now.

or you could do the drill a hole and run a wire trick too. the hole can always be filled later.

according to the pics, the position sensor is located on the bottom of the motor rather than on the wheel. this would indicate that the connection between the motor shaft and the disk has loosened, allowing the motor to spin without the disk moving. open the door and play a SL and see if the motor spins. probably a loose allen screw.

Let me take it back to square one before replacement of motors or wheels begin.

Willie, does it spin when you first turn on the machine? As I recall, it does a test when you first turn it on. Let's start there.

Otherwise, I'd really have to agree with LD. Connections... someplace. And yes, the humidity could have a bearing on connections, too. Unplug and re-plug everything that you can.

No John, it doesn't spin when you first turn it on. It TRY'S to, but the wheel won't move. I know nothing about these machines at all, but I will take a look at it and see if I can find any loose connections.

As far as the humidity goes, I keep this place pretty cool with the AC in the summer.

well thats a good test because it should spin upon powering it up, if you say it sounds like it trying to spin but isnt, Either something is in the flx-discs way or something is slipping inside of the motor to where it isnt catching. Thats what it sounds like to me. The motor has a pin that hangs down and attatches to the flex-disc try keeping the door open and powering up the machine and see if the pin trys to spin the flex-disc or if you just hear a bunch of noise. look for anything that could be keeping t from spinning.
