Im no expert but I would say that to be considered Vintage, unless something new comes along, A Vintage Pachinko must have a manual shooter Mech, that would place it in the correct era.

Look at the sun sticker to find age,,,,but I dont consider any lectric ball shooter to be (vintage)
Manual spring loaded arm shooters are how I judge em
Nice machines though,it looks like the kyo is when they started changing them up from man to elec.
Is anything else electric on the kyo, besides shooter and lights?
No ashtray,,I may have one round here somewhere

Right after I posted earlier I just noticed that I won this Vintage Machine on ebay for all of $15.

If its what I think it is. This is what I really consider Vintage it has a ball loader through the hole in the door. (Hope that isint just a lock hole)

I have been looking for one of these for my collection. I believe its 50s 60s era making it the oldest machine I own as well as the cheapest!!!

Where The Hell AM I GOING TO PUT IT ???

The kyo has nothing else elec besides what you said as far as I've been able to tell. Its not giving me any prize ball when I win them.

    Vintage?

Yes to the first... no to the second. I would agree with LD about the dating on the second one, and IMO 'vintage' is manual shooter. The second one certainly has more electronics than just the shooter... the LED displays for one, and that's probably a small CRT screen in the middle?

(Eddie... NICE grab! It DOES look like a single shot machine... no ball feed tray, just a return. And if you're running out of room... there's plenty of that left here in PA)

It is a CRT screen but there are no LED displays. What is this sun sticker they're talking about to date it? You said I can date the second one that way but not the first right?

Look in your pic, right above the Y&O.
See the three LED displays? (888)
These are used for parlor credits, but they ARE LEDs.
It's electronic... plain and simple. The CRT itself is a give away to that.
And surely there are circuit boards on the back of it, not just mechanics.

However, that said... I guess 'vintage' is in the eye of the beholder.
But I personally wouldn't consider a seven year old electronic pachinko machine 'vintage'.

I would consider the first one vintage...

I believe the first electric shooter was introduced in 1972, so I don't see why a 70s machine without an electric shooter would be vintage and one with an electric shooter from the same time wouldn't...

Good point as they should, However for the casual neophyte you could rest assured that a machine with a manual shooter is vintage if you are looking to buy a vintage machine.

A machine with an electric shooter would be hard to determine if its vintage just by a photo, as the machines from the early 70s do look similar to later 70s machines. Would late 70s be considered Vintage?
You would really have to be knowledgeable about pachinko models to know the age of an electric shooter.

How many years old does something need to be to be considered Vintage?

The first machine has the numbers 58 and 12 but I didn't see anything with a 58 in it. and the 2nd machine(Y&O) doesn't have any numbers on the sticker under the sun.

Can you give us a real clear pic of the names of the machines? On the back on the control boxes there will be white Japanese characters.
