It may be old news but I saw this in one of the new Stealths auctions tonight. Sorry if you have all seen it before, it was the first time for me.

Thanks to the fine folks over at Pachitalk, we are now offering our Holographic model machines with Bright White LED's for FREE! This is a $50 value exclusively for our eBay customers FREE! Almost all of these type models have dull or burnt out LEDs. This causes the reels to become dark and although the machine still plays fine, it takes some of the enjoyment away from the play.

Hmmm I read this two different ways.

1. Wow it's nice to have Pachitalk mentioned

2. Hmmmm they use Pachitalk's name but don't insert the entire url?

Possible results:

1=Anyone that knows of Pachitalk.com maybe would buy based on that statement?
2=Anyone that doesn't know Pachitalk...will they do the legwork to find out or will they even care?

I must admit, that I was not certain why Pachitalk was even mentioned in this auction? Unless they are trying to giving credit for having learned something here, that they are now usung as a "value add" for their sales.

if by credit you mean having a free customer base and then screwing them over yeah thats the credit.. alright...

A few of us worked on this mod some time ago Websherpa was the one who spearheaded the mod and perfected it .Till then the LEDs behind the reels of most elco machines where dieing causing the reels to look dark and discolored in a word crappy. Wayne was able through trial and error to come up with a replacement led package that worked exceptionally well .if you didn't know the machine had the tri-color LEDs you'd never have known the single colored replacements where in it . Wayne deserves the ataboy for this mod thats for sure .until he did the mod stealth was selling these machines in the scratch-n-dent bin but the next few days after they had yanked them and where charging full price for them .If they want to thank us they should give us the scratch-n-dent price on them still but that'll never happen .

after all he got the know how and he fixed them and brought them up to a new standard.

but the whole warranty thing.. that just sucked BIG TIME!!

He got the know how off the backs of brothers here who laid their time and money on the line doing research and stealth is now profiting from it ??? ...and this guy ain't even the one who owned it back then .besides that hes the one that burned you at the stake on your warranties sorry i wouldn't buy crap from them ...

but i believe the findings of Wayne and the others that posted the DIY fix were given out freely for all. sure you can say that he used this knowledge to to make a profit.

Sid I'm not a big fan of copy-writes to begin with lets face it thoughts are a stupid thing to be able to own for life they should become public domain some time but no... music rights even get passed down to children now there is a limit to the amount of cords and notes that are able to be played and a good portion of that is just noise ...but i do have to draw the line on making a profit from those that you got the knowledge from to begin with especially when your willing to thank those people in public .welshing on a warranty is done everyday read the ads that have warranties for life they guarantee practically nothing except blue elephants sitting on it in September on the second full moon ...theres no such thing as integrity anymore its been replaced by greed ...

but then again i have to admit he used one of my favorite rules at work. It is easier to do something and then apologize for it afterward then to ask for permission first ...at least that way you get to do it at least once !!!

I see the use of PachiTalk in the ad as an attempt to butter us up...ain't happening. As far as Stealth using techniques developed by members here to fix and sell machines, I say go for it. The ideas were posted and placed into the public domain. Stealth is in the busness of selling refurbished machines. Repairing LED reel boards is part of the refurbishing job. He has the right to sell them at a profit. Stealth stiffed everyone on the warranty issue, be mad at them for that if you want.

The use of Pachitalk in his ad certainly gives the impression it supports his business... Glad to see Tulsa asked for it to be removed.

Me, I'm still cheesed a the whole "life time warranty" rip off.
