I called them asking about a machine. I got their answering machine, so I left a message saying I was interested in buying something.

    They never called me back.

I figured if they never called me back when I wanted to BUY something, I could imagine the lack of response when I had a problem....

Hey, please don't cancel my account because of this , but our Azteca Legend (my first pachi) came from VG/Hopson. Really, I didn't know any better. It was dark, I was drunk...

I'm the stupid one around here. I have 4 from them. It takes me a while before I get PO'd. You are safe to buy from them as long as your expectations are non-existent. You will receive your machine, they aren't thief's.

They just aren't responsive, considerate, courteous, or caring. You won't get a pachinko_pallace style lifetime warraty or a warranty of much value at all.

You are there for their benefit, plain and simple. Gee, reminds me of another place, an old place...

    A place far far away?
I ventured on there this morning...
Machine pricing has come down (hot machines of course are not following the $25 markup rule)

I see this as a great chance to "clean house". As you said, out with the old, in with the new.
Kinda gives that warm fuzzy feeling all over don't it? :smt025

I just wanted to post my experience with Valley/Hopson recently.

I won an Neo Magic Pulsar from them recently (before seeing this post). The machine arrived within about a week of the auction close and was packed well. Could of used a little padding on the front of the reel glass but was fine nonetheless. After opening it up I did find about 4 screws loose in the cabinet some stuck to the speaker magnets. The LCD display was missing a screw so it was flopping around during shipment. After powering it up and playing a little I had 3 problems. The spin knob would sometimes stop working altogether. The payout LED had some segments not showing and the LCD display had about 3 or 4 rows of pixels that always showed brighter than the rest. I determined the problem on the knob and LED were wiring/cable related.

I emailed them about the issues and didn't get a response in 2 days so I decided to call. I called and left a message and didn't hear back so I sent a fax with the contents of the original email. I just wanted to make sure that somebody heard from me within the 7 day return policy so I wouldn't have a problem with them saying I didn't contact them soon enough. The night I sent the fax I got a callback from Mr. Hopson and he made many apologies and assured me that his tech guy Timathie would contact me the next day. Timathie called first thing in the morning also apologizing and wanted me to ship the system back for repairs. I offered to make the repairs myself if parts were available and he agreed to do so.

I got my parts 6 days later and swapped everything out last night. The LCD and LED is now perfect and I have a brand new spin knob and everything is great. While I didn't get a super fast response, they did take care of me to my satisfaction in a reasonable amount of time. Wish I would have gotten some extra tokens out of the deal but oh well. As long as I have a fully functional unit.

One mans positive experience with Hopson Enterprises/Valley Gaming

I wouldn't have issue with that, EXCEPT....you had to chase after them by phone, email AND fax, just to get a response before your warranty was up. From what I've read about some of the other companies, you'd only have had to try one of the above to get results...Personally, I have better things to do with my time than chase people down, but that's just me. It's why I'm not in retail! :smt021

That seems to be the biggest problem with them. Not enough staff and most machines come needing some sort of repair. For their shipping price they should be putting some foam inside to protect the reels and board.

I agree with both of you. I just wanted to point out that they did come through for me in the end. The whole issue from receipt of the machine to the receipt of the replacement parts was 13 days which isn't that bad.

To be honest the only reason that I got it knowing that their shipping was so high was because I won it for a bid of $100.

The upside is, their machines are cheap. The downside is, you get what you pay for.

    Default Neo Planet

I won a Neo Planet from them that also arrived with the EL display missing a few lines. I have contacted Timothy (several emails and finally two phone calls) and he insists I return my EL display before he sends me a replacement. Even when I offered to pay for the part up front to guarantee him the return part. I will pull my display this over the weekend, but I really thought he could at least send the part so my
machine wont be down during the shipping time (long). Since I am doing my own repair
Oh well live and learn I guess

i hope he is giving you some free tokens for your labor!!!!!

i have got parts from other vendors first and sent back damaged.

slotusa sent my replacement pachinko as soon as my call tag one was picked up, so it didn' take too long.

They won't send you didley sqaut. They are certainly the most customer UNfriendly vendor I've ever unhappily dealt with.
