I was waiting for the paint to dry on my 40th aniversery Gamera Cabinet(Thanks Arby!!!) and I started playing around with my old pachinko.

Previously, I posted a cleaning solution for the cell. I wasn't worried about the machine itself, it only cost me 15 bucks about twenty years ago. So I did not care if I destroyed it.

While waiting for the paint to dry, I Began fussing with the old machine.. A little supper Grease here and there and some carpet cleaner there...It worked perfectly...Now I have to build a cabinet for it.

The brown stain is something I did when I was stupid...(19 or so).

Can anyone clue me in to what should be the proper color ( the frame style) for this machine? I am hoping the Cell gives some people ideas.

I like the stained look myself. Sand this one down, and give it a deep cherry wood stain to offset the light cell, then add several coats of shellac to seal it and give the finish a very smooth feel.

I was going to reply exactly what Tusla said.

Cherry is the way to go.

Would make it look very Elegant and would Recall its Japanese asthetic.

Unfortunately, The stain job isn't on wood, It's on white plastic. I think I will change the fram and do the cherry...It sounds like it would go well with the cell...Thanks

You might try a nice cherry veneer, then stain that.

OK, The Gamera is now in it's own case. I was going to do all red, bt I figured that would be a little too much. This color worked great.

Now a case for the vintage machine...but where to put it?

Hmmm...black, white and red? Exactly the colors of my gameroom. I'd recommend that you put it at MY house
