I used 1/8 " Plexi and Resin Bond adhesive which forms a completely transparent seal. It fuses the Plexi together.

You need the Hypo applicator to use it correctly.

In order to maintain transparancy on the cut edges of the plexi, you must go over the edges briskly in one direction with a fine flame torch.

OK I have found a nice solution to both the played balls noise and their getting caught on the lower frame of the machine.

Instead of making a wood ramp and having to cover it with some soft material I simply bought a packet of 2 aftermarket Mudflaps and cut one 2 shape.

One side has a logo which had to be cut off the other has a nice shiny surface.

The rubber is 1/4 inch thick and very firm which is ideal for the job.

Simply cut to shape and screwed into place makes it both a ramp and silencer plus its wide enough to cover most of the lower frame rail.

In the photos you can see that it is about 1" from the lower tray surface for ball clearance and you can also see the rubberized material that was spray glued to the tray top.

Now the machines operation is much more silent from balls not hitting the lower tray directly or the lower frame rail and no more hung up balls on the lower rail either.

If you really want to get the spent balls almost completely silent in the tray just cut a strip of the mud flap and mount it on the lower tray just under the over hang of the mudflap that way the balls would fall onto that and roll off into the tray. I thought of this after the pics were taken and will do it.

Of course this extra 1/4 inch of rubber on the tray floor will lessen the ball clearance by 1/4 inch so remember to give yourself enough clearance with the mudflap in the first place if you want to do this. A 1 inch clearance should be fine.

I use rubber stair runners. The curved end hooks over the bottom 1x4 and the other end can go through the door jamb or could be shortened and stapled to the door frame or a piece of wood. I make them 3" wide. They work good but put a bit of a bounce on the spheres.

I agree these are intended to be played LOUD and often, now if your a good neighbor a bit of quieting would be appreciated. If you need to quites them to own them in a townhouse or apartment then SHHH! we are playing pachinko.
    good stuff.

Thought I would bump the pics of my slide mech as I have been getting questions about it. Its exactly the same Dimensions as in Kens plans only made of plexi. It is so easy to open or close it with the balls in the upper tray filled you wouldnt even know they are there. The slide is that light of an operation.

I also linked the post about sound dampening to this thread so that all the cabinet info is on one thread.
