    Default Dumb question?

Theres a local family restuarnt around the corner and they have a game of chance where you can play and win money. So I went home and wanted to see how much these cost, to see if it would be smart to put in my bar. I stumbled upon pachinko. I remeber seeing something on t.v. about this a while back where you take the ball bearing you win to somewhere else and get money for them. I looked around on the internet and theese machines are legal in my state (ohio). Now I'm curious if I really pay out money for winning ? Or an exchane from balls/tokens to money? What are the legal aspects of this. I've looked high and low and couln't find an answer. Thanks in advance.

Anytime something is changed for money it becomes gambling and most states don't allow it without the proper licenses.

Pachitalk does not support using any machines with coins or exchanging tokens or balls for money.

Thanks. I saw on a site that its Token OK and Quarters OK in Ohio. Does that mean that I can operate the machine using quarters/pay out quarters? I mean I'm not trying to take people for all their money just give them something to do while they relax, while giving them a little thrill. Thanks in advance again for any info.

these Machines are meant to take tokens only

your patrons will have just as much fun with the machines as they are..

These machines are token in-token out, ball in-ball out.
In the US they are for entertainment purposes only.
We do not discuss or condone the use of currency of any sort with these games.
Your state laws still do not allow you to operate a game of chance without proper licensing. The place around the corner just hasn't been caught yet. I am just over the border in PA and have read on more than one occasion over the years about raids on places in Youngstown and the surrounding area involving illegal gambling devices.

Again let me point out that we do not discuss the use of currency with these machines.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Why not just leave it token-in/token-out (ball-in/ball-out) and let your patrons enjoy the machine that way?

that way you wont get your nut in a jam, and your customers can bet each other for beers as to who has the most after a set time.
