If we go for this the main scope of the project would be to,

be able to remove the hopper and auto credits. I don’t know about the auto stop that’s illegal here in Oregon and I don’t wish to bend the Oregon rules to much when I have the Oregon State Patrol Gaming and Lottery commission working with me so I can sell some systems out of my house without getting busted. There not bad people if you follow the rules but sometimes I think the rules suck bad. I’ll get back with the sergeant and see how much conversion we will be able to do in once device.

After contacting an attorney I found out Oregon can be considered illegal just an FYI. I still plan on having on working on this module but aye not at my house anyway.
even converted there not legal in Oregon because of the words Modified, Converted or how ever else you name it. They look at the law as it was not factory
done so there for once a slot always a slot. If there’s any attorneys in Oregon that would like to help change the law classifications contact me.

Just means I will be having my friends do the work well I can make boards that’s all.

sounds to me like you should build a Mame cabinet then at least you can run the cherry-master simulators they don't payout at all and since its a computer simulation its not a slot either .

Just saw this tread about playing without a hopper and I have a unit that makes 3 of my machines; Fire Drift, Terminator 2 and Gamera Blue, possible to play without any tokens and without hopper.
It´s a black box with a lot of connectors, no soldering requeried, installed in 1 minute!
This is a legal problem here in Sweden as well and since I just started a company here in Sweden trying to sell theese machines over here I will try to find more units that fits to all of my 40 machines in stock.

I got two different units from my dealer to try on my machines since he didn´t have time to try them out himself. The problem is that he doesn´t know if there are even more different units that could convert every machine to a no-token / no-hopper or which machines my existing two unit are supposed to work with.

This is a very interesting subject to me since my business concept, partially, depends on the possibillity to convert the machines to legal ones. So if you know more about this, please contact me and I would be greatful!

I will also try to get more information from my dealer about the units I already recieved. If he could supply me with more units and information about wich unit fits to wich machine I will also sell them to all you Pachitalk members.
Please respect that I run a business and therefore cannot, at this stage, reveal my dealers identity. If everything works out with him I will sell them to you with a very small profit though because I don´t make money on selling aseccories, this is a service to my customers, I make a profit on the machines.

I know this isn't a political thread but... dang these laws are dumb. Or rather, they seem primarily out to protect casinos and other business run in those states. How does owning a pachinko, pachislo, or slot machine in your home hurt anyone?!



No, these laws are just economic controls, and mis-guided ones at that. I really don't think there would be an epidemic of underground slot parlors opening up in peoples HOMES if these laws were revoked.

Write your congress critters in Oregon and tell them you think this is BS. Then just take precautions to avoid giving the NSA (who are now eavesdropping on you at the request of your congress person) material they can prosecute you with. Avoid words and phrases like: Jackpot, Tokens, Coins, Payou

t, Big Money, No Whammies... etc. etc.

I saw a company on the web with a really slow video. Showing a device they install that would allow you to play with just credits, no payouts. I'll try to find. I tried contacting several times, but no response. I'm in Cali, and have same problem. Laws...some make sense, others ...

Hi again,

Just made direct contact with my dealers dealer in Japan who supply these coinless units. I will get a list of wich machines are possible to equip and I will make that list avaliable to Pachitalk members.
I havn´t got information yet about prices or how many units he has got, I´ll keep you informed though.

In my next posting I will try to figure out how many units I shall order from Japan, so please spread the word and mabye its enough demand for me to start importing them and make avaliable to all the rest of you.

I've been contemplating developing a modification to go hopperless also. I probably wouldn't have time to work on it until winter.

I'll wait and see if zOOdeac develops one first. (I don't want to steal his thunder.) Mine would be a 4 wire unit that would connect directly to the hopper wiring. It would have to be used in conjunction with my autostop w/ credit-add in order to get credits to the machine.

Hopefully you can find a ready source for these.

Talk to pretty much any casino in the US! One of the reasons I don't play anymore.

I agree with that as a player but as a tech it makes the game so much easier to service. No coin jams no hopper jams, no dirty coin dust all over the game. I never realized how filthy money was until I became a slot tech. Its such a pleasure now.

The Seminole indians bought complete comtrol of the Hard Rock casino in Tampa and doubled its size with almost double the slots.

It's called the lesser of 2 evils. Thanks to oppressive laws and severe penalties some of us have to compromise.
