Default Problem with a New Red Pulsar

I have a New Red Pulsar Pachislo that I bought from Stealth about 6 months ago and converted to a New England Patriots SuperBowl Themed machine. The other night for no reason the Alarm went off in it in the middle of the night and woke everone up. It came up with an error EO in the readout. If I open the door and press the Red Reset button it clears but unless I start playing it right away the alarm goes off again within 10-15 seconds. It seems if I play it continuously it seems ok but if I stop for a few seconds the alarm starts again. I now have to leave the machine shut off all the time. Any ideas what can be wrong? Does it need a new board? Does anyone have one? Where can I get parts?

    Thanks much

I did a quick search and came up with something that might help. An E0 error means that a token is jammed in the slot or maybe something is obstructiing it. Push the eject button to see if you can clear it. Maybe even do a visual check of the token slot with the door open. Then put a token in and see if it goes through smoothly. I don't know if that is the problem since you say it works after you do a reset.

You mentioned you purchased from Stealth. I believe when you purchased the machine it came with a lifetime warrany. If you should need parts you may want to contact him.

I dont' have a Yamasa machine any longer to go look at it and try to verify or describe it but if you'll notice when you leave it to go into alarm, you should hear it clunk right when it does, if so it's probably the solenoid on the coin mech getting weak and not able to hold it in position. Or you need to clean the photo sensors.

But wait! I thought that came with a lifetime warranty.

The lifetime of the coin mech apparently...

Your machine is not guaranteed for as long as it works.

sounds like a loose or dirty connection if you havent played it in some time you might want to clean the coin mech and sensors also clean the wire connectors going to the plugs most likely your loosing the signal to the computer from the mech causing the computer to think you have a coin jam .

Thanks much for all the suggestions. Ill check the connections and the sensors. The machine has been sitting for a while and it could have attracted some dust in the coin mech.

    Thanks again!

Well I checked all the connections and cleaned out the coin mech and its still setting off the alarm. At this point Im not sure what to do. I did notice that sometime I get a crackling sound out of the speaked (sort of like frying eggs) so I suspect there may be a componet on the board breaking down somewhere that is causing this. Since Stealth is not honoring warrantees anymore where can I get a new board and how much???

    Thanks much

This is interesting. The guy you purchased it from who will not honor the warranty anymore has a website which i guess is run by the new guy. On his website he has parts for 12.95 plus shipping. I personally would not buy from him because I don't agree with what he has done.

I see that Stealth is still offering the New Red Pulsar for sale on its Web Site with a 1 Year Warranty but the wont honor the Lifetime Warranty on one that was purchased in Nov 2006 which is LESS than 1 year ago.

since the game was modified to a New England Patriots SuperBowl Themed machine. Wouldn't that of voided Stealths warranty even if it was still in effect?

I doubt the graphics change effected the coin mech..

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the coin mech either. I was just under the influence that any modifacation to a game would void the warranty. Even as simple as installing volume controls. I thought I read that here somewhere sometime ago, but I could be wrong.

I just think it stinks that Stealth will offer a 1 year warranty on a machine they sell today but wont honor the warranty on one sold 7 months ago by the companies previous owner. You would think that the GOOD WILL that the previous owner had built up would be worth something to the new guy but I guess Im wrong. He would rather chase all those old customers away for the sake of a few bucks rather then honor the warranty and have them come back again. Sounds like a poor business plan to me.
Anyway I wish to thank everyone that posted their suggestions here and an EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS to BirdBrain for helping me out with sending me some parts to try on this machine.
