Looks like this "mod" counts the number of balls you have shot by counting how many balls the ball lifter moves back to the reward hopper.

Would work if you had a ball lifter.

It wont count the reward balls. however.

I don't think it's meant to count balls shot. I think it is to count your winnings, or count out balls to give to someone to begin play.

When you want to cash in, you just dump all your balls in the lifter's hopper and press the special button he added that keeps the lifter running until all the balls have passed through. The lifter doesn't even need to be fitted to a pachinko - in fact it's probably easier to use as a ball counter if it's not on a machine.

Yes Gary, that makes sense - it's just a stand alone ball counter.

Any idea where I can but a digital counter like he has there?

Don't know if they still make that exact model, but here's their site:

You're probably looking for something in their "cub" line.

Yeah he states this on the page :
Figure on installing in a ball dispenser that also receives the balls that you've won.
So looks like this is counting the winning balls. But by ball dispenser is he counting the winning balls first then lifting them to the top again? Interesting idea..

If you just wanted to count your winning balls why wouldn't you use a calibrated scale like some are using for counting tokens ?

I think he is counting the winning balls and then having them lifted afterwards to the top ball holder.
