Question Can we use a National Parts Distributor ?

Is there a need for a National Parts distributor for all Pachi parts both old and new ? All parts would be available for quick shipping: Boards, belly glass, lamps, LED's etc. Complete machines would also be available both on e-bay and thru the company web site. Is there a need and could it be self sustaining ? Inquiring minds would like to know what you think ? Is it a needed service to our hobby ? Frank A

how can it even come close to working when new machines sell for $40 to $50 range.

there is a mark up of trice for a business to survive. Think of all the CA$H one would need to have in all them parts and machines to be able to do as you dream.
With that kind of CA$H, one could invest in safe stock and really make money.

CF Export International Inc. is un-loading machines cheaper than they sell on their mainland, because of the Recycle subsidy, So they made money just bring their trash to our shores (In their letter of their laws).

So if one set this up ? what kind of return should he get on his money ?
    Simple 7% annually ?

On an $120,000 investment a simple 7 is a meer $8,400. not even close to the poverty level.

So them parts would cost alot, so who going to buy them when a new machine only cost $40 ?

CF Export International Inc. has made them disposable, breaks throw it away, like Luckydogs "Hello Santa"

    I rest my case

the local dealer here uses machines in stock for parts, when he had 20 parts machines he gave them away to make room for working models. I found him a taker

he has another 20 parts machines now and they will be going in his dumpster very soon.

I got a working SlotPara Net machine with no lock and a Hello Santa with many problems for free.

both working now except no cable for LED screen on one.

I could go there and strip out what I wanted on his parts machines, but it's not worth the work involved.

Well I definitely agree with Arby on this but I certainly haven't seen any new machines for $40-$50 Where are they?

While there may be a lot of cheap machines out there right now, I doubt that most people want to pay $90 shipping just to get a part...

...so even if a part did cost $20-$40, I'm guessing that the shipping wouldn't be $90.

So just remember that a $40 machine is still $130 for anyone that doesn't live near CF! !

While I like the idea, I just don't see how it could be a profitable enough venture for someone to get into. The demand just doesn't appear to be that high.

Oh yeah, I guess I should have pointed out that I also doubt that it could be profitable, but it sure would be cool if there was a way for it to work! !

Smile Re: Can we use a National Parts Distributor ?

The reason that I am asking is that I was thinking of getting into this as a part time business initially. Putting up a web site and doing some e-bay sales and doing a table at coin operated auction sales or some flea markets shouldn't be too expensive to do. I know that I haven't had to buy many parts over my four years in the hobby, except for a transformer and some lamps. Right now I need a reel stop board and a hopper for two older machines. My business plan is to provide quick delivery and service like Milt used to provide for us. I also have a minor interest in a Pak and Ship business so I would do shipping and packaging at cost which would be about 25 % less than everyone else. I appreciate everyones input both pro and con. Thank you. Frank A

Frank, the parts you need, when needed will be a lot of one thing (like the leds board in the beast zap and like) where others you would not sell abything for 10 or more years. All the while you are sitting on parts and paying storage for them.

    Good luck if you do

if I remember correctly Milt had about 200 parts machines taking up space in his business.

then you have to search them all for the right machine and parts.

    ABSOLUTELY !!

I have quite the inventory for myself and I'm willing to help anyone out of a jam. Most of my machines are the older ones, got them all (a trailer full) from the original owner of Stealth. I purchased several from Scott and struck up a friendship, a phone call later after a email, I was driving to Illinois with trailer to fill. Out of all of the so called scrap pile, I was able to sell 12 machines right after I went through them all and pulled the ones I'm keeping for myself. On top of that, he gave me 10 Pachinko machines still in boxes, all the electronics with either LCD display or Reels. If anyone needs something, email me, I may have it. I've been supporting a friends business with my inventory since he sells them out of his store here in Michigan.
