Default New Machine seems to have no power?

    HI,

I got a King Pulsar yesterday.

After powering it up for the first time it seemed OK, however, the transformer hummed loudly.

After about 10 minutes the house circuit breaker tripped and I isolated the problem to the King Pulsar.

Now it will not even power up, no lights, nothing at all.

I have checked the fuse on the panel and that's ok, although I changed it for a new one a few times to make sure.

    The transformer is 24VAC @ 5A mps.

Is there any circuit switch in the machine?

Could I need a new transformer?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

did you check all the wiring and connections before you first turned it on.

does the transformer have any burn marks on it.

Yes I checked all connections and all seemed OK.

No, there are no visible burns on the transformer.

As I said, the machine did work for a short time.

The fact that the transformer hummed loudly tells me that you were drawing way too much current from it. The question is... is it the machine drawing too much, or is the transformer too small to provide what it needs.

If a transformer melts down, you'd know it. It has a gawd-awful smell.
BUT, it might have heated to the point where an internal thermal fuse may have blown. Some transformers have that protection... it's a good thing.

I'm guessing it doesn't hum now?
What kind of markings are on the transformer... such as watts, or VA?

    Oh... and welcome to PachiTalk.

    Thanks for the welcome.

It was the transformer, I swapped one off another machine and it worked fine.

The faulty one has no visible marks, nothing to indicate that it's had it.

Thanks for those who took an interest.
