Default Started to build a cabinet today..

I spent a few hours today putting together a cabinet for the Star Wars Pachinko I bought. I am going for more of a arcade game cabinet. So far I pretty much got the shell done and did a test fit. Here are some photos of the game room.

I am new to this so if this sounds silly you will understand. It seems like the machine is too far in on top. Will it be comfortable to play like this? Does the machine have to come forward a little bit more. Also I was wondering if the machine is cyclic? If it isn't I was curious how you will deal with the balls in the back. I always like looking to see new cabinet ideas. The cabinet does look really nice from what you have done so far.

Looks great! I assume it's intended for standing play as opposed to sitting? For that arcade look, you may want to get one of Gaku's counters.

The cabinet is 6 feet tall, and only 22 inches deep. The pachinko machine is recessed back about 5 inches from the front of the cabinet. The picture is misleading I guess. It looks really pushed back hehe.

As for playing, Its comfortable for me using a bar stool.

I still need to do the following to the cabinet:

    1. Make ramp system for balls in back of machine.
    2. Cut hole out in front panel , and make ball box. This is were the balls from back will be deposited.
    3. Sand the whole thing.
    4. Cover case with black melamine.
    5. Remove Pachinko temporary legs and screw frame into cabinet.
    6. put in marquee with lights

I will prob work on it some more next weekend hopefully.

Seems you have plenty of room for some nice side art as well. If you have a good color inkjet you can print up some artwork on adhesive backed photo paper and apply it to the cabinet. It looks great, I did it with my Indy and will be doing this with my SW, whenever it arrives. The Sankyo download page has some nice large size graphics:

Oops, that was for the pachislot....here's the Pachinko. You could use either...

Be sure to post more pics when it is all done!

Ok worked on the cabinet, and I am about 95%. I just need to clean up some melamine adhesive on the edges, and apply some marquee & side art when the printing company is done make it. Also need to put a black foam mat inside the ball return box.

I was going to make the Marquee lighted, but it kind of took away from the pachinko mahine lights, so I just made it solid black.

    Thanks.

One more thing that needs to be fixed is the white melamine chip on the lower left side. Its been there since I bought the machine.

    Looking very smart ! !

    Great Job ! !

I don't know anything about repairing melamine,
but I would have thought that due to the location of the chip, it would be reasonably easy to repair or disguise

Maybe even covering with a small strip right along the bottom to match either the Pachinko or the cabinet?

Impressive! That's one way to avoid the worry of where to buy a stand.

Now.. how many pachinko machines do you have (so far)? Are you going to make cabinets for all of them?

This is the first pachinko I own. I would prob like to get a Indiana Jones machine if I could find one. If I did I would make the same cabinet again for it .
