How much do you bend nails when you get a machine?

When you get a new pachinko machine, do you bend the nails? I've taken to loosening mine up a fair bit so the game play is more interesting (that is, "easier"—the kids and I have short attention spans). Do you bend your nails? How much and why?

I spread the nails by the start pocket and check the path to the other pockets, if anything is too tight, I loosen them up a little.

If there is a side opening to the center I usually adjust the nails slightly, so more balls will go it it.

If I get a ball jam on any path during play, I usually adjust the nails by the jam.

I try to ballance out the play so that it isn't a guarenteed win but not so tight that am always having to grab balls from the back to keep playing.

Do you just push on the nails? I don't want to break them. Is there a certain technique?

I use a very small socket on a screwdriver handle.

It gives you more leverage and you can make very fine adjustments.

I use an official nail bender tool and ball gauges that I got from Arby awhile back.
Alot of times the pockets will all be a little too tight for a ball to go through except the start pocket. Some parlors will do this so there aren't as many payouts.
I use one of the gauges and follow all of the ball paths and openings to make sure the balls will go through and adjust as needed.

I bend mine so myself and my friends can enjoy playing the game more. I see no real reason to make it harder as it's in your home for enjoyment. Now I am lucky to have such a beautiful set of tools that I received as a Christmas present from Arby. With these tools, you can bend them like a kugushi.

Now every machine I've received from Arby has come to me pre-bent as he understands my preferences and sets them perfectly.

I put the nails close to straight out and attempt to somewhat emulate a parlor payout with it. I also track most of the machines regarding payouts vs. balls in. I have some I've now tracked for 2 years.

All my Pachinkos with the exception of one have come direct from the good Doc

and as such have already been tweaked to play well - so I have had no need to bend nails myself

I have thought about it on the Star Wars Pachinko - but at the moment the Game Play seems fine - so I will leave well alone for now

and just think of the damage I could do with that beautiful Sankyo Tool Kit!!

I like my pins to be straight, no bending out of the way so to speak... I like them as neutral as i can get them...

and Thanks To Arby, i can make all the adjusments with the Sankyo Nail bending kit...

I think the people should stop posting pictures of these great items. Now besides the sankyo cell pica cleaner I will be looking into this also.

I was in my corner the other day, or was it Arby's corner, boohoo'ing over missing out on a ball lifter. Now that I have an official daverob pro action dongle(tm) I really wanted one, but the funds just werent available right away. So I waited, and I watched. Then, when the funds were available, the ball lifter was GONE!!!
So, I summoned up the, errr, balls to call upon good Sir Arby. And wouldnt you know it, he had me setup within minutes. The guy is a gentlemen among gentlemen, and ladies, and the occasional cad and scoundrel thrown in for good measure, but what can I say, he's an alright guy.

I couldn't agree more with that. Every time I've posted a question about where to fine anything pachinko it has alway lead back to Arby.

Sometimes I feel bad alway asking him so often, but he has never let me down.
