No payout on Dino

I have a Dino machine that I am looking at for a friend. It plays fine, but never pays out balls from any of the pockets.

There are balls in the top hopper.

Do I leave the little piece of metal with the prongs on the right side of the hopper payout track in or out?

The game is displaying a 7 on the LED in the back.

Where do I go from here? I cannot figure out how to see if there are any jams beyond what I can see.

Any help is appreciated!

Needs to be out (or should I say up), if you mean the one in this picture.......

If so it should look like the picture, if it is down it stops the balls getting to the motor.

I had the same problem with my Star Wars. All i had to do was lift up the metal piece with the prongs and it started working. The only thing is the balls had to be added to the top topper until all the payouts caught up. When you add balls initially to the top hopper they will probably go through to the bottom tray. You may have to do this for awhile until it stops or you can do a reset. Good Luck.

you can do a reset if you dont want to have to cycle the balls for all the missed payouts. just hold down the reset button, and power cycle the machine. this should clear out any missed payouts.

It does not have that flippy thing in the picture. I was talking about a removable piece of metal marked with yellow paint. If I remove that, all of the balls empty out of the game.

I can see the balls feeding down into the motor that would control payouts, but nothing seems to happen. We've been thru the 16 level fever mode, and still no payouts.

Does that '7' have any meaning?

Can I remove the motor or anything to see what's up? These things have tabs on them, but I am unable to remove anything easily. I don't want to break anything.

I can take some pictures, if that would help. The game seems to play well, other than the lack of payouts.

Do you know where the reset button is? I see a 1/4 inch silver button on the back. Is that it?

How do I know when I have sucessfully reset the machine? I tried holding the button for 15 seconds, but nothing seems to have changed. No noise, no change on the LCD and the LED in the back still shows a 7.

I believe these are the code errors for the sankyo machine.

- No abnormality
1 Main board signal not yet connected

5 Main board signal abnormality
6 Full tank
7 Balls cut off (out of balls)

First, make sure the ball tracks are clear, if you see balls at the payout motor, make sure it is plugged in....check the cable. If that is ok then reset the machine. Follow the power cord back to the left side of the machine and find the on/off switch. Beside it is a small buttom, the reset button. Switch the power off, hold the button in and switch the power back on. Hold the button in for a few seconds after you power up. I had to do this with my Julie when it quit paying out for no reason.

Well, I let all the balls out of the payout track. Loaded them in, and just like described, it started paying off balls for missed jackpots. After cycling thru hundreds of balls, it finally stopped and is now playing normally. The '7' code is also gone.
