Its shipping company bashing time!!!!!

After about 2 months of shipping and recieving 8-10b packages each week I have come up with the following:

DHL: Their online tracking system stinks!!! Never recieve packages when they say you are. Always late unless you are shipping or recieving within 150miles.

Fed Ex: Their online tracking system is wrong half the time. Recieve packages early, ontime, and quite a few times, late. Still yet have to recieve or customer recieve package where the box wasn't banged up. Myself along with customers have witnessed drivers tossing packages onto the porch. Had close to $350 worth of clock movements flung like a frisbee towards the porch from about 15ft away. It hit the corner of the concrete porch and bounced off into the yard. Didn't accept package, Company called to say that out of 150 pieces only 38 of them were undamaged. They called along with myself to Fed Ex. haven't seen the driver since. but still recieve banged up packages.

USPS: They don't track packages like they say they do. about 8 out of 10 packages arrive to the customer and the so called "tracking number" still says that "USPS has recieved information on a shipment from me to them."

UPS: Don't really have any bashing about them YET except their charges are kinda silly. But I LOVE their tracking system though. packages arrive when they say they are....

Fedex packages have all arrived the day they were on the truck for delivery, my driver is excellent. he is careful with my machines and puts them inside the doorway for me when I'm home.
some do get banged up along the way sometimes.

UPS runs to the door and leaves package before you can inspect it. they like to leave bigger packages nearer the street.

USPS always delivers packages to my door and rings doorbell. one problem is they only track for 30 days, so if one of my Ebayer files a claim with Paypal I have no proof of shipping after 30 days.

UPS - Always puts the package regardless of size on my door stop and covers it with my doormat. They always ring the bell but leave right away. Arrival time is good, tracking is good.

Fed-Ex - Pretty much the same as UPS except they ring the bell and wait for you before leaving it.

USPS - Usually leaves a note in my mailbox telling me I have to go pick up wahtever it is...

I have sent and received via FedEx for years, they have the best shipping software and delivery times, I was able to ship a package to a co-worker while he attended a 3 hr meeting in Boston. I have sent software cd's in the floppy big envelope no extra padding and it arrived just fine.
UPS around here abuse anything heavy or bulky.
DHL once stuck a forklift fork through a generator box and broke off the carburetor. I went in personally to the office, the guy in charge reached into his wallet to pay for the replacement parts. It pays to be an Ogre.

FED EX - The Packages I have received so far have arrived in unbelievable great condition(not even a corner dinged up), there tracking sucks and they sometime can't find my place even when they delivered a package the day before.

UPS - Big packages have been pretty dinged up, small ones are usually in good shape, and they also put my door mat on the package. It was pretty funny the first time I saw a big old pachislo box with the little door mat on top. Also they do seem to have the best online tracking system.

DHL - no complaints only had a poker table shipped thru them, they put it by the garage door which I thought was kinda odd.

USPS - Packages sometimes seem like the guy was practicing the scene from Ace Venture with them. They also have the worst tracking system, my favorite is how the package goes straight from "expecting delivery from shipper" to "arrived at destination"

USPS - I've shipped and recieved a bunch with USPS. I've noticed that if I do the on-line shipping then the above is what happens. But if I take it to the postoffice and buy the postage there then the tracking works just fine. Either way after the item is delivered then it has showed up with the info online. For stuff I sell, I just print it out and save it with the hard copy of the order info.

If it is the regular driver then he is nice with the deliveries. He alway ring the bell and waits to see if were home. If it is small enough he puts it behind our screen door then rings the bell.

For one of my vintage machines we had a non-regular driver slap one of those notices on our door without ringing the bell. We were home at the time. Lucked out the regular drive delivered some other stuff later that day. We told him what happen and he had someone bring it right out.

UPS and FedEx have good on-line tracking in my opinon but if its realy big or heavy then it gets beat to .

Haven't had to deal DHL so I'll trust what has been said by others.

Just my 2 cents on the subject.

Heck.......I think they all suck. But out of the three, UPS does the best job here. Curiously though, after complaining about FedEx some time ago, I received an apology from the drive. Never figured out how he knew that I had made a complaint here on he board.

UPDATE: The package that I posted a link to through DHL....

I called DHL today and The lady that I spoke to said there is a liquid substance leaking from it so its been put on what she called a haz mat hold until the shipper can verify what the substance is.....

The last time I checked I had only ordered the bi-metal tokens from him and it says on the tracking invoice "Slot machine tokens" He runs an Arcade Store......
