    Default Vegas style Progressive

I have been working really hard at trying to get a Vegas style progressive working on my 2 Pachislos, and finally it is done! I have a Mikohn ChamII+ Progressive Stand alone meter kit ($100.00 us +shipping). Then I did a little R&D and got a progressive jackpot up and running. I have posted before on the Forum about how to get it working, and I have found alot of usefull information. If there is anyone that would like to know how this is done, Post a reply and I will be more then happy to give you the information on how to get it up and running. Posted are some pics of the meter, and the work in progress to make my gameroom look like a Vegas Casino.

I have both of my machines linked to the Progressive controler, and I'm thinking that you can do as many as you want. With that being said... if on occasion the machines send a signal at the exact same time, the controler will only see it as one machine sending a signal. In my application I didn't need to worry about that, seeing that it's only the wife and I (or 2 friends)playing the machines at the same time. My main objective was to have the look of a Vegas casino, not to payout the jackpot like a Vegas casino.

First step is to get a Mikohn ChamII+ With 12Cell Meter. (I have contacts that have some)

Second is to locate the Stop board in your pachislo and Take Pins 1 and 6 out of the 8 Pin connector (see Pic) and run them to the interface cable (should be supplied with your ChamII+)

You will want to connect Pin Pin 1 to the RED wire of the interface cable.
Then connect Pin 6 to the BLACK wire of the interface cable. (see Pic)

After you have this completed, you will need to power up the unit, and program the unit to your likeings. Some like the progressive to add 1 cent per 9 coins in, but I like the look of 25 cents added per coin in (looks like the Progresive meter is running fast, and alot of slot machines are adding to the jackpot).

It's as easy as that! Put it in a slot topper like I will, or build a custon box for it. I was actually thinking of installing it in the belly glass of the Slot machine too, but I scraped that idea due to not wanting to ruin the artwork of the Pachislo.

Yes, that is April from Lemans.. Very good person to work with. I have bought a couple things off of her. She shipped the ChamII+ the next business day after I ordered it, and it arrived 1 day later! No need to worry about Deadbeat E-Bayers.

I have seen that meter board on E-bay before. Unfortunatly it' $500.00, and that's without the controler!! You still need to have a controler. I have a 1X1 already and only paid 30.00 for it. April (Lemans) has thies minus the controler for 30.00 in her E-bay store. Be aware though, a 1X1 is only half of what that other guy is selling on Ebay, so you will need 2 to have a display as big as his ($60.00 total not 500.00... do the math ) Actually you need at least 2 to have any display for the #'s won't fit on a 1X2.

    Now a little Education:
The "1X2" Means 1 board high, 2 boards long.
So you can have 2X3 and that will be 2 boards high, 3 boards long
    2X6 = 2 Boards high, 6 Boards long. Etc...
Now to Control thoes boards you will need a Con2 Controler (this is where it gets expensive) and a seprate power supply.

If the guy was selling the whole kit for 500.00 It might be worth it, but reading the auction, I don't think it comes with the controler. Also I don't want to pay 440.00 Extra just to have it come in a nice little enclosure. Also the unit he is selling will not fit in a slot topper. That's why I went my way that I did. Cheaper, and fits my needs.

Thats only the display. You would still need a controller box and a power supply in order for it to work and be programed. Plus the correct mikhon software.

    Kurt,
What other functions will this display perform?
Such as - scrolling messages or the like?
Obviously, it is just for show, but can it be programmed to reset itself to $0.00 say like when a big bonus round is hit on a machine?

My display will show "jackpot" and the Jackpot Value that is won. Then Flip to the current jackpot ($0.00 or whatever you set your starting value at. I set mine to $625.00) The display will flip back and forth for a few seconds, or till Coin-in signal is given to the controler.

Now. For $500.00 that is just the display, but depending on the controler (con2, or Super Controler) I don't know the exact cost of a Con2 but a Super Controler I have seen go for $300.00 on up on E-bay.

I know for a fact that you can use a Super Controler to do graphics and such as seen in casinos (falling coins, Fancy Jackpot graphics, casino name..etc.). I think that the Con2 will let you do custom Messages, but I haven't had any "on-hand" Experiance with the Con2 or Supercontroler just been doing ALOT of recearch on diffrent progressive systems.

As a matter of fact, I have only had experiance of 1 night with my ChamII+ because I just got it delivered last night. I'm going to do alot more messing around with it tonight after I get my RS232 cable from RadioShack.

I'm going to try to mess with custom messageing with the ChamII+ if it will let me, and change values a bit, so I can get fluent with the ChamII+. I want to be a Guru about this system, then maybe the wife will let me invest in a Litte bigger system... and so on and so forth.

A Note: Programing the Controlers is done through your laptop, or Desktop PC with a Programer program.

Also, forgot to tell you... the input for coin-in is a pluse signal off of the Pashislo, the Jackpot won signal is a 3 second pulse to the controler. I'm thinking of a way to build an external PCB that will turn the Big Jackpot short pluse to a 3 second pluse to indcate Jockput won.

Is that setup on Ebay from Lemans complete?
I noticed that it said it did not come with the 110v power cord
If I bought that one, what extras would I need to complete it?

The 110 power cable is a regular IEC power cable (computer power cord 3 prong Edison plug that goes in wall, and 3 prong that plugs into a power supply) That I believe would be all that you need, I would also get a Audio Cable for a CD-ROM (this you will need to mod so it plugs into the Pachislo Stop Reel board). I'll write up a "how to" on Modding the cable, and linking it up to the Controler board of the ChamII+ once you get the equipment. If you just take it step by step, it is a really easy mod, and works great. I have also just done some research on making the BIG BONUS trigger the Jackpot, and I am going to work on that too once I get the parts in from On-line stores. More to come in the up comming weeks on that, I need to do more research & development on that.

But all in all if you would like a little something more then the Battle Counter (not to disrespect that guy, I think it's a great product, but just not what I was looking for), the Mikohn ChamII+ is the way to go that is cost effective, and if you put it into a slot topper like I will, It will look like an authentic Vegas Casino (Minus the Vegas slot, which is a little bit more expencive then the Pachislo's).
