Code # 3

Does anyone know what a code # 3 means ? I changed the transformer that didn't work on my E.T., but now I get a code # 3 even after a reset. Thanks, Frank A

What Make or Frame is this in??

On Sankyo Lumina Frames
Error Code 3 = Pay-out count switch abnormality

and on the Rocky Machines = either Payouts, Count Switch or Ball Jams??

on Sammy Machines = Count Sensor Error

E.T. is in a Sansei R&D 'Zerostyle' frame, so hopefully the error codes will be the same as in this post, and 3 will signify that the front lower tray is full.

If the tray isn't actually full then check for ball jams in the payout tubes or a stuck or disconnected switch.

Now the code is rolling from 3 to 4 and back. What is code # 4 ?

If it's not caused by any stuck balls, I'd think that a loose connector leading to the ball jam sensors is most likely. Try all the wires going to the circuit board with the error code display on it, and make sure the connectors are fully pushed home.
