Default Two sided vs one sided pachinkos

I don't have any pachinko machines yet. I know some have two sided play and some only have 1 sided play. Is there a big difference in play between the two? Would you suggest one over the other? Which games would you recommend for the best play experience if you only could get 1 machine?

Its all about theme. What do you like? My top 3 are Maharaja, Julie and Star Wars.
Julie and Star Wars are one sided and it doesn't take anything away from gameplay. Maharaja is all about the music (and girls). I also really like Saint Maria because of the great classical music and Mozart theme.
Also ask yourself if you want video or reels?
Look around the museum and see if anything strikes you.

I agree it is all about the Theme!!

Most modern Pachinkos appear to be one sided play......

However, Maharaja is two sided and to be honest it wouldn't really make a difference to me if it was one sided !!

and if you are truly 'into' Pachinko then it won't matter either way as you will be too busy having fun and enjoying the experience to notice much else anyway!!

I have both also & I can honestly say that my decision to buy a particular machine has not been based at all whether it has been left or hand play. It has been about theme & reviews on here.

I've not noticed any particular advantage in playing one of mine that has both sides over a single sided machine. Actually I've found added features installed by the manufacturer i.e., R2D2, Indy in the coal car, etc., provides a bit more visual enjoyment for me.

Also if you notice on the machines that have play on both sides, you still tend to drop the balls down the left because that is where the flipper pocket is and very few balls go down the right hand side.
So if you aren't gonna use the right, might as well have a cool little animated doo dad there instead.

Arby doesn't belong to any political group. None of them think clearly enough and backup what they say for Arby to belong to them.

I like two-side play for variety, but I won't use the lack of it as an excuse not to buy a certain machine. These is more important; I especially like the "traditional" Japanese theme. My Sakura has two side play and is beautiful. The light show is stunning.
Last week, I got Ukiyo-e, a machine that is a year older from the same manufacturer. It has only left-side play, but there's a gap on the upper right side that allows balls to go down a tube into a play area in the center infront of the LCD display. Balls that go here have a higher chance of laning in the start pocket. Ukiyo-e has more reaches than Sakura, but the light show is less spectacular. The theme is cool though and I like the LCD more than some have stated here.
My next machine will hopefully be the 2005 Kagetsu. However, if the 2003 Kagestu becomes super-cheap. I may just break down and buy it.

Oh...and did I mention that Sakura is absolutely beautiful? I can't wait 'til the 2006 version gets here.

Left vs both side play is never a factor when I'm deciding on a machine...I have equal numbers of both. But I do like both-side play only because the cell tends to look more symmetrical.

i have one (duel side) and one BUT SOON three (left sided) I say the theme makes them worth it but my only duel sided pachinko (New Art Masterpiece) is fun and a very different experince seeing the balls drop on both sides. so if there is a theme you REALLY love thats one sided(Indiana, Julie pinball) go for it, but if its your first pachinko and you dont love a one sided theme search out a pachinko that uses both sides.
