Everyone here is sooooo helpful. I actually have more than 24 machines, I just haven't updated the signature for a while. I think I have closer to 35 or 40, and I just bought another one yesterday. I was going to wait and say something until I had time to take a picture but I guess I'll say something now and post a picture later. So sit right back and you will hear a tale...

Yesterday was the release day for the new Pirates of the Caribean Disney Dollars at Disneyland, so I get up early and drive the 30 miles to Disneyland, get there about 830 and buy my Disney Dollars and leave about 930. Driving north on the 405 I'm near the Long Beach Swap and Antique Fair that is held every 3rd Sunday, I usually go early in the morning beause it gets hot out there in the sun, but yesterday was still overcast and I made a last minute decision to stop. Paid my admission, walked the whole thing and about 2 hours later didn't have much to show for my days walk. I turn and walk about 1/2 way down the last isle, and there it was........
A Nishijin electo-mechanical- Marked $60.00, but before I even open my mouth the seller drops the price to $40 because it's too heavy for her to lift in the truck at the end of the day. I look at it and it's missing one of the back covers but otherwise looks good. I ponder a few minutes and decide to take the plunge. Now begins the 1/2 mile trek to the car with 75 pounds of Pachinko machine and balls.

Now the reason I was going to wait to say anything until I could post a picture. The machine has a helicopter theme. There is a little Helicopter in the center of the machine and it looks like it moves or lights up, (No I haven't even plugged it in yet)

So you see it's true the voices talk to me.....


The machine sent out the telepathic message, "Rescue Me", It was faint, but it made me keep walking, while the machine was working on drawing me closer it was also working on the seller "We are heavy, you don't want to take us home, a tall bald guy with be here soon, when he stops to look at me reduce the price and he will take us home"

So there is the proof, the machines talk and I hear the voice,

I'll try and get some pictures of the new baby up in a day or two.

So, you're the one! Oh, just kidding. I was thinking of rescuing these myself. The problem I have with these ads is the discriptions stink and the pictures are too small to make a judgement on repair. They never have any input as to if and or when it ever worked. Unless you have a source for parts that I have not been able to find, that has been my biggest problem. I'd love to have one or two..

I picked up the 2 single shots this morning and here are a couple of pictures of them and the Helicopter machine mentioned above

Helicopter is a Nishijin Red Lions machine, Helicopter lights up but is not designed to move,two tulips, 2 other win pockets and 3 pockets that activate wings on the center win pocket, 2 of the pockets are labeled Act 1 and open the wings one time, the other pocket is labeled Act 2 and opens the wings two times. Machine is very dirty so I couldn't do a full playtest needs a little cleaning up and polishing.

Now on to the Single Shots:


Machine one is a 1959 Isuzu Special

Missing front glass and most of the metal parts are heavily rusted, including the nails, will need some extensive cleaning and polishing, Most of the ball paths are metal with only a little plastic. One small ding on the playfield but should not be a major problem

Machine two is a 1962 Daiichi
A little less rust than machine one, but someone has used silver paint to cover some of the chorome so final evaluation will need to wait until I get the paint off to see how the chrome really looks. Mostly metal but the jackpot dispenser is an early plastic version of the standard Daiichi vintage type.
Top of frame is cracked and split so will need to replace some wood

Both the single shots look like they have been sitting somewhere really dirty for at least 10 years.
