    Default Sankyo Ebay purchase.

Last week I received a Sankyo Pachinko machine I won on Ebay for $41 plus another $59 for shipping. My grandmother bought me and my brothers a Pachinko machine similar to this one when I was a kid.

Over the years, my uncle had it in his house and recently I ask him if he still had it. He said it didn't work anymore and he got rid of it! I went on Ebay and finally have another one. It arrived in good working condition but, I did a lot of general cleaning. After finding this site, I read that you're not supposed to clean the playing field with any spray cleaners which I did before registering on this forum. I sprayed Simple Green and used a microfiber cloth to clean in between the nails.

So, far so, good! I built a little bench and attached some wooden feet for support. I also, went to Radio Shack and bought a couple of 7.5 volt light bulbs and used a 9 volt battery to power the lights using the stock micro switches. I also, purchased a pachinko manual on ebay which helped me a lot.

My family never new what a Pachinko machine was but, now they love to play it. I've learned a lot from this site already thanks!

nice job!! most of the older ones have paper playfields rather than a plastic one like yours, hence the warning against liquids. WELCOME aboard!!

    Welcome to Pachitalk!

I gotta get with the program and hook up the lights on my vintage machine. I'm such a slacker!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

I also, installed another plastic window pane cut at a local plastic store for $5. This Pachinko machine only had one plastic widow panel so, I had another one made to complete the look.

I thought the window frame was missing another pane and my suspicions were confirmed here on the forum. Thanks again!

I can't really tell that much. I asked for a 1/16" thickness of plastic because that's what was in there but, after looking at the space, I could have used an 1/8" thickness instead. I'm still deciding if I should replace both window panes with an 1/8" thickness which should be a lot more solid and quieter.

I use two 1/8" pieces in all the vintage machines I referbish. The vintage machine that I have kept I use one plexie and one glass.

    PS. Welcome to Pachitalk.

I just went back to the plastic store and had them cut two sheets of 1/8" thick clear plastic panels to replace the 1/16" panel I installed last week.

The thicker window plastic fills up the space in the frame a lot better and help to eliminate most of the window rattling in the frame. Cost was $14.

Try small pieces of foam tape in the glass track to quiet rattling. just need a couple on in each corner to hold it tighter. BTW nice machine welcome to the club.
