Default Volume control help, Heiwa Double Tiger!!

    Hi!

I need to control the volume on the Heiwa Double Tiger. Does anyone know what size pots I need? I looked at the machine inside and out, and can't find any clues on how to control it. How would I know what to buy at Radio Shack if I went there?

    Thank you so much!!

Welcome to Pachitalk. Try the search function most topics like this have been discussed and revisited. A link is even setup for the work volume click it for more info, also check the bottom of the thread for similar threads.
Ok here is a tread that I show the proper radio shack trimmers to use and how to connect them. best of luck.

Yeah, I went through all of the threads (so it seems). I did a search for "volume control". I figured getting the 5 for $15.00 might be the solution. I just don't want to take a chance of messing any thing up on the machine. It's running so good, I'd hate to have something go south!!

After trying practically every volume control out there, I've settled in on installing 100 ohm, 3 watt, wirewound resistors. They are small enough to fit almost anywhere and only cost around $0.50. You can then use the 3-position volume control built into most machines to adjust to your taste. They are also available in higher wattage, but the 3-watt ones don't ever seem to get hot.

Okay. I bought the pots that are 5 for $15.00.

I installed them carefully. I do have control over the sound, even though the right speaker seems to be more dominant.

Anyhow, there are two warning like lights on the top right outside of the playfield that continuously stay on. I can not turn them off besides unplugging them. Of course I'm not going to do that. They were working fine before I installed the pots.

Any clues why the lights are continuously on and how to fix this?

    Thanks a bunch!

Mike... All the machines have a light that comes on when the machine is out of balls or the tray is so full that no more can be payed out.
Some machines they are red and some it is a white light but almost always outside of the play field
Did you run all the balls out to put the Volume controls in? Just a thought. I don't have that machine but all my machines light different lights at different times to show weather they are in a reach mode or not.
    Oh! And welcome to Pachitalk.

    Sailor,

    Thanks!

I emptied all of the balls, and then turned it off and on a few times. Nothing happened. Same ole thing.

Well, tonight, I moved it to sit higher on a small table (it was on the ground). They turned off!! WooHoo!!

My step-son told me that it just wanted to be higher. I think he might of been right!! But of course, technically speaking, I think you are right!!

    Thanks again!

Now, I need to design feet or a stand!

    Mike
