Default Pachicounter and the pachinko world

    All,

I've started selling my invention, "Pachicounter"!! Come see it at

    www.gaktradinginc.com

I also put a new section, "Pachinko World" on my web site. I hope you enjoy it.

As for custom pachinko machines, I will start selling them in March (This time I mean it!). Please keep checking my site. There will be owner's manuals and playing guides downloadable.

    Best,
    Gaku

Hey! That's very cool! I didn't know about the shortcut mode vs the high winning rate mode. That explains some of what I was seeing on my Sakura (before I had to send it back..sigh).

    Thanks!

Has anyone tried out GAKU's Pachicounter?

I wanted to give it a try but I found a flaw.
I have a Top Gun and a Rocky pachinko and both of these machines have a dual dispensing motor. In other words there are 2 holes where balls that you win fall out of. Has anyone else noticed this? Maybe the newer pachinko have this? From GAKU's website it looks like Star Wars only has one hole for payout under the motor, but these newer machines may all have the double dispense.
This looked like the perfect answer to tracking payout too...=(

I was just looking at both of mine and it comes from both holes on regular payounts also. It counts the number of balls correctly but still comes from both channels under the motor.

There is a way to count balls from dual motors with my pachicounter. Under the motors there is a point that two ball paths meet. You can count dispensed balls by setting a sensor there. It is just before the ball exit to the ball tray. You can see the point from the front side by looking into the ball exit.

Having said this, however, do not try to install a sensor if you are not sure about the whole procedure. This is a major operation that you have to take off everything on the back of the machine. Also, you need proper tools to make a little window on the path for a sensor. Furthermore, you need to disassemble and reassemble until you get a sensor at the right spot -- the most accurate spot. It is like a brain surgery and never no brainer.

I wish I could install sensors for your machines...

    Enjoy your pachilife!

Thanks for the info Gaku. I will take a closer look at mine and see if I am up to the challenge. Again, I think your Pachicounter seems like the perfect answer to tracking pachinko and I would love to get it to work with my Pachinko.

Would it be possible to use the battle counter 'prize ball' output from the pachinko machine as an input to the pachicounter. This would be ideal for machines where the modifications to install a new sensor to the payout mech are too complicated for the average user.

As I understand it you are using an optical sensor, so on machines like Sankyo's with isolated battle counter outputs you could just disconnect the wires to the opto-detector and connect them to the battle counter output pins directly.

On machines with 35v DC battle counter outputs you could add an opto isolator driven by the battle counter output (through a suitable dropper resistor) and connect your opto-detector input to the opto isolator output.

The only down side is that the battle counter outputs only pulse once for every 10 balls payed out, so you'd have to multiply it in software, and the count would not increment on every payout (if the payouts are smaller than 10 balls !).
