you could drill and tap them and use a setscrew.

otherwise the shaft would need a keyway for the key.

A college machine shop comes in real handy. These were CNC cut by a student from my dxf drawing, the instuctor used it as a teaching example. I do what I can to help out the instructors with these useful examples. They made me cut the slots myself but I used their lathe to do it. A student made the cutting bit, another helpful teaching demonstration.

Nice looking job. I can appreciate the complexity of the work as this is what I did before retirement. Programmed and ran NC machines.

You should have the students build us up a batch of BB's lifters. Great learning experience and we win as well!

After my Star Wars unit went nuts and fevered 13 times last Saturday... I think I need one of these.

I cycled at least 30,000 balls through that machine that day.

Of course the damn thing never fevers at home... but bring it to a friend's house for a computer gaming party... oh... yeah... fine BE that way!

You know it is just showing off in front of others! A great way to spread the 'dark side'

This was very simple. Years of cad detailing made this profile really simple for me to make, The teacher either made the fixture or had the student make the holding fixture and the syudent ran the gears while I was gone. The student was very open to making more, it was a simple job and he recieved extra attention from the instructor.

BB I sent them out you should have them this week. let me know ASAP if you want more spring break is really soon and the students will rotate out, I will have to train a whole new crew.
