Well as my first post to this forum and brand new to the world of Pachislo, I'd like to say "hi" to everyone here - I've been reading posts and getting absorbed like a madman!!

I purchased my first Pachislo from a friend (Kaiji / Mosquito) and instantly fell in love. So, I want another (or several) but hey, I live in California too. and along with all the rest of the BS here, Pachislo is illegal as is being discussed. You can say I'm stubborn and don't like to hear 'no' for an answer, which is basically what I'm told from every vendor I spoke with in regards to shipping a machine to me..

I spoke with Tom at Samurai-Slots (this was before reading the threads here) and tried to figure out if there was any way for me to get a machine delivered...nope. The law, is the law, is the law and I'm not looking to get anyone (including myself) in trouble. We had talked about possibly shipping to a friends house in Vegas but I'd still need to go there to pick it up.

After a bit of brainstorming, I phoned Tom back to see if my good friend who has a Florida residence and DL would be able to pick up the unit for me? After consulting his boss, the answer was "YES"!! Looks like I'm going to be heading to the warehouse next week to pick up a few Pachislo machines...uh hem, I mean my friend is going to pick these up for himself.

I'm excited - not only am I going to get the machines I wanted, I'm going to visit the warehouse and save a bundle on shipping - more money to spend on Pachislo!!!

Pickup $20 (does not apply to ebay ad).

Did anyone have to pay on the old $25 pickup fee?
Do they update their invoives, I could never get them to do it.

They seem to change every week. I'm starting to get confused.

What does that mean? If it doesn't apply to e-bay ad, why is it listed in there auctions?

...it was per unit. Last week it was $25. Most were no pickup in the last few weeks. I guess they have been shipping them all.

Just an FYI, I deal completly with Samurai Slots now. I talked to Tom and I think the reason they are adding the pickup fee is to discourage local pick ups. Face it , if you are picking up at his wharehouse you are probably from California and that makes it an illegal transaction. Not that any of us here really care about that. Yes we do/ no we dont/yes we do....................any way. As you can imagine running a buisness like Toms, he has to be careful. If he gets caught selling to locals he will lose his license to sell and do buisness in California. I've talked to Tom on numerous occasions, he doesnt seem like the type to nickel and dime people, he does seem very jittery when doing local pick ups. Just my opinion.....I could be wrong, but according to my girlfriend that never happens. lol

Someone might want to suggest to Tom to cease and desist on the local pickups if it's not legal. This is a very public forum you're talking about all of this is in and his competition reads it.

Lets not suggest that, especially since he's not doing anything wrong. He wouldn't budge when I asked him to sell to a California resident so as far as I'm concerned he's following the law.

I don't think his competition has anything to use against him by these threads, hopefully they learn what makes the community happy and improves business

tulsa: what specifically were you referring to in you previous post? it looked as if you were responding to the $20 pickup fee?
