It is much better to get the ones from the auction at 6 for $15 shipped. I should have mine tomorrow.
Pots are $2.50 at radio shack, and gas only $2.50 (and I drive a hybrid), and the one radio shack near me is literally a hundred yards out of the way on my way home.. they did only have two in stock.. so I'll try them out, and if they work, I'll look into the auction when I want more.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Does it matter if you use regular solder or lead free solder for the volume controls?

Only if you plan on putting them in your mouth...then I'd go lead-free.

I agree silver solder. Be very careful with drips, they will go right on to the plastic shooter tray. Not much room to work with and the wires don't have much slack and you only get one chance to strip the wires. I just did my Vicky and was able to keep the 2 controls together under the grey plug mounted with velcro. The grey wires go between the controls and the red speaker wires go tightly around each side of the plug for the grey wires. BTW, the grey plug does not have to be plugged in while testing for setting the volume but I would turn it off before plugging it back in.

Vicky rewarded me with 3 "mission modes" but no fevers. It seems to go into mission mode if the chance button is pressed when the first digit is 1,7, or F and you press the chance button when the dots between the number flashes and a special tone is made.

Umm, "silver solder" is used for repairing stuff like heater elements or jewery. It requires a high temperature device such as a torch to melt, like brazing. Use a light duty 60/40 rosin core solder like RadioShack 64-005.

Use thin gauge rosin core solder, tin the wires and leads first, then just connect the dots. Really keep the heat to a minimum or the pots will be burned before they are used. if you get drips your using way too much heat and solder.
