    Default Pachislo Parlor - Prizes?

Does anyone have first hand experience on how prizes are awarded in the actual Pachi Parlors in Japan? I.E. If a stuffed animal is given away as a prize, can you estimate how much that prize is actually worth vs the amount of tokens it takes to be awarded that prize.

The intent of this thread is not to debate the use of Pachi machines for prizes like Florida's "Chuck E. Cheese Exemption" where adult amusement arcades are popping up all over the State and patrons win prizes instead of cash. However, I was "Hypothetically" wondering (since these machines odds are rather high even on a #1 setting) what the forum members believe the value translation is in Japan where this method of tokens for prizes is the very basis for these machines existance?

Simply put... I'm wondering if it costs 50 tokens for 30 token stuffed animal in Japan and is that how they actually make money on these machines in Japan?

    Thanks for your input,

Not first hand, but from what I've gathered, the prizes are valued approx. their street value. The thing is, medals 'rent' for 20Y ($0.183US), redeem for 12.5Y ($0.115US), so your behind before you start!

    Thanks for the welcome everyone...

Actually, Compirate PMd me with an actual image of a flyer showing token trade-in values for prizes. Some interesting items on the list but none the less, it answered my question.

Yes, 12 machines.... some of us were at a friend's house who had a couple of these machines he had bought at the flea market. We thought they were really neat so, a bunch of us got together and bought a dozen! (saved about $75 ea over the flea market price after shipping). So, me owning 12 is just temporary... They should all be distributed by this weekend! In fact, a couple of the new owners have been reading this forum...

    Thanks again everyone....

I thought the idea of the prizes were irrelevant. The object was to win a specific prize. This prize is redeemed for money in another building not owned by the parlor, but is a type of mob front. So, these places are mob controled.......At least this is how I understood the articles posted on here.

Thats correct but when you reedeam balls against prizes you get a better exchange rate so to speak compaired to to exchange against money so if you playing for the hell of it then your better to find a prize you like rather than cash if you know what i mean

Called 'Special Premiums' (prizes are 'Premiums'). Can be anything the parlor wants (flints, pens, etc.). There are companies that make only them, with embedded chips and holograms to prevent forgery. Got 100 sets (old school) of each, 100Y, 500Y and 1,000Y. In second pic, thats a business card to the right for size, in the last pic I took apart one of the 1,000Y with a penny thrown in to show size. Nope, not for sale!:

You are a member of a new nation, Pachination

The concept of PachiTalk was to bring together anyone and everyone who has a passion for these amazing Japanese creations. Once you stepped through the doors at PachiTalk.com, you become part of the Pachination.
You are no longer Japanese, American, English, Italian, German, etc. (If I missed you I am sorry). You are now considered a Pachinational, put that on an application! We are all one big entity amongst ourselves and our Pachis. Segregation is not our philosophy and the seperating of diffent cultures will not happen, we are one, under the Pachi Flag.

We are the United Nations of Pachiland....
