    Default Pachinko Case.

After much thought and and the fighting off the evil lazyness.

I decided to build a cabinet for my Pachinkos.

i decided on a simple design no funny cuts everything is a straight cut no need for any fancy wood work..

all you need is a drill a counter sink bit ( I couldnt find one at any hardware so i had to do things the hard way.. double drill )

some white glue some screws and a bit of your time..

here is the cabinet in the final stages.. i have puttied the screw holes.

next weekend is sanding and maybe if im lucky painting ( i doubt it but miracles do happen)

i used 3/4 inch / 19mm MDF... needless to say its bleeping heavy a brick pachihouse

i can post detailed instruction etc if anyone is interested..

Which colour are you going to paint it ?

It looks similar to the cabinets i make, except for the two feet at the bottom.
At the moment i am at the fifth design, but going to make a complete new one for my own gameroom.
Going to put about 5 machines next to each other with a ball lifter and all.
Will be similar to what drcrippen has build.
I use 18mm MDF, also use putty to cover the screwholes and dont know if i will paint my gameroom assembly, but it is always better to give it some paint.
All in good time, i am curious what you have done for the ball area at the top.

Well done and good luck with the paint.

right now it upper part is just a box. its going to have a top on it on a hinge to keep the dust out..

as for feeding the hopper im going to put in some sort of simple box that will feed the balls to the hopper through a tube..

the Spiderman in the pic doesnt need balls in the hopper as it is error cyclic

use some thick laminated card or paper to guide the ball to the feed pipe but dont forget a cut of on the pipe or your gonna open it and get a ball shower trust me couple of thousend steel balls hitting you as you open the machine aint good

the ball containment will be done in either wood/mdf/or plexi within the top part that isnt visible
the upper portion is 9 cm high and 52 cm wide (3 1/2 inches x20")

as for the pipe feeding the hopper it will be pvc.

i used plastic pipe that comes out of the bottom of your kitchen drain(it has a flange built in) bore a hole that it slides into then hold it in place with a screw that clamps the flange to the top of the hole. like andy says: remember to use a ball stop.

When you use a 32mm pvc pipe, you will get a lot of balls stuck in the pipe.
I use 40mm pipe and have had no troubles so far.
Glued two 10x10mm sticks on the side, then placed two wooden boards of 6mm thickness so that the balls will go to the middle.
Just drilled with a 38mm speed drill in the center of it and then slammed the pipe into the wood and cut it of from the top when the bottom reached the right height inside.
Then i cutted away the top left overs till it fits the wood like a glove.
don't even need glue for the pipe, it will stay in place.
you slam the pipe in from the top just till it does not go into the ball tray and still be able to open the machine.
If you keep the pipe too high then there is a chance that balls go everywhere in your machine....

i started out with a 32mm pipe but my balls always got stuck, so i changed to a 40mm pvs pipe and had no trouble ever since.
when i want to open a machine, i cover the hole at the top, take some balls and let the machine payout several times and then you can open the machine without a problem.

Looking good Sid! Are you dropping spent balls down into the lower section?

I'm telling you, this pachi cabinet building has helped me realize how much I enjoy woodworking. I have a whole new hobby now.

Go buy some Spiderman comic books and cover the whole thing with the pictures. Kinda like a decoupage.
