Default So what are you guys looking for in new Pachislo models?

Well after digging further it would seem that you are rly into this! Wow.
Anyways, I was attempting to navigate some of the Japanese sites for more info on the model I purchased , and ended up having to use Babelfish to get any where.

It would seem that the Japanese generally love icon based menus, which make translators worthless. Nevertheless, I discovered that not only is the model i bought now 3-4 years old (which is fine..It looks fun), but also that the Pachislo industry in Japan is considerably more serious than I originally thought.

Since you are for the most part grizzled ancients on everything Pachislo, I submit this article I stumbled across, partially translated using Babelfish (AYBABTU anyone?)
Note that there appears to be some amazing features that I have not seen in any of the 'well known' common models discussed here.
What are your thoughts on the future of Pachislo design?

My uninitiated Observations of Next-Gen Pachislo
    • XGA liquid crystal 17 inches
    • Display engine 10x more powerful than previous models
    • Possible Noise-Cancelling Sensors and integration (wow sheesh)
    • Playable RPG Storyline appears more complex than previous models
    • How much will this cost?

Finally a really nice new design! Get the reels off the screen unless you're going to animate them. I've always shyed away from the "large video" pachislos because I hate the idea of watching a video around physical reels.

It is kind of helpful having them moved here. I have looked at everyone that has been and seen some pretty cool machines that wouldn't have.

    Unfrickinnnbelievable!!

    Great find there RVideo!!

    It's a real beauty isn't it?

And it uses that new X frame you discussed :

So it looks like more to come.

The future sure looks bright for Pachislos with this type of design

I think this might be a must get for me down the road based on the pics :

One of the things that set apart my "winners" from my "losers" when it comes to pachislos is the ability to eye-shoot whether you're controlling the outcome or not. It still gives the essence of skill and controlling the opportunity. So I love the IGT machines and the SBJ is also a great eye-shooter vs the Yamasas which are crap when it comes to eye-shooting. Once I've seen their screens there is nothing to bring me back again.

Ultimately I personally want as much interaction as possible and that's eye-shooting on a pachislo. Now enter this style machine. A real beauty to look at but your eyes are going to be drawn to the screen and not necessarily what your shooting at. Once the repetition kicks in, will it be worth having?

I would like machines to play a bit more like King Camel but with the high tech features such as Sinbad Adventure with its large video. I would like more novel, reel slipping, spinning backwards, nudging, maybe introduce the ability to nudge a reel up or down on occasions after spin finished (like UK slot machines).

I like the unpredictable nature of King Camel that is far removed from a machine like Sinbad Adventure, say. With the Camel you get surprises out of the blue, you can never really tell when you are going to get a winner. With Sinbad Adventure its a lead up through the story, similar to popeye (you always know in general with Popeye a big bonus once you get to the beach).

AND GOING COMPLETELY INTO A DREAMWORLD.
I think the RPG element to Pachislo would be great, i think maybe a personalised data card system would be fantastic. I have seen these data cards in UK amusements for games like Tekken on large consoles. You insert your datacard that records your progress; you come back in a few weeks and continue where you got to. The same could happen on the Pachislo. The RPG could become reality then, with more depth and rewards mabye depending on how many hours or goals you put in to the game. Super Big Bonus, cryptic play, downloadable BIOS upgrades through the internet, ability to add to the story. Wouldnt a ZELDA theme be fantastic. Who knows eh??
King Camel - Popeye - Beast Sapp - Mumu World DX - No Pachinko Yet, but working on the wife! Two vintage one armed bandits

The next step with these would be to have a touch screen like the American slots. Maybe have a combination of both
