Just make sure you don't sign into paypal on that page.

only use a page you know is real and secure.

Hmmm...it only asks for the email...which it doesn't check to be legitimate. This is sure seems odd...you'd think if it was really PayPal that they'd check (and the site would be in the paypal.com domain.)

No copyright notice. No privacy policy. Blank home page.

At least they don't ask for a password.

They never asked you to sign on to Paypal with a password and the address had the secure https://Paypal included. The worst that could happen is they get your email. Lots of sites are able to do that. I was pretty cautious, too, but it looks to be OK.

And by the way, the certificate ( https: ) applies to the page on the domain; I could set up https://paypal.sheeprulepachitalk.com and it would have nothing to do with Paypal. If I was the owner of sheeprulepachitalk.com, I'd be good to go.

It's only legitimate if the secure certificate is on a trusted domain, in this case if it was https://sheeprulepachitalk.paypal.com it would be a legitimate Paypal promotion to leverage our vast purchasing power.

if you click on that it asks for your password!!!!

Yep, the more I look at it the more I'm thinking it is harvesting emails. It is a good one, though. One of the best I've ever seen. Sneaky.

After looking around, I'm worried this is NOT legit. Don't mess with this link for now. If you already have, be very wary of anything you get from "paypal" for a while. This looks like it might be a scam and a good one.

As long as you haven't given your password all is well. Do not give it out unless you logon thru your normal secure Paypal account.

In other words, don't click on something thru your email and logon from that. And, you should never do that anyhow.

which, as we see, goes to this promotionexpert.com site.

I can't believe they use a site with NO copyright and NO privacy policy.

I still can't believe the way this promotionexpert.com site was set up.

As I indicated, anyone could set up a site like that, harvest away, send emails with login links, and go to town.

Yes Lucky, but the last thing I want to do is worry folks unnecessarily. The way the promotionexpert.com site is set up fires EVERY red flag I know about the design of legitimate web sites for ecommerce.
