    Default Burning up volume controls

I installed a syscom volume control worked for about 10 minutes and stopped working can smell it burning. I replaced with another and same thing. I removed a volume contro from a pachislo I purchased from Stealth a while back and same thing. Worked for about 5-10 min and burned up. What can I do?????

Ok Arby I just bought 10. $7.74 shipped. Not too bad. I didn't see a volume slide switch on the model. Do you know where it is? Maturi Tayio Elec Gachinko.

We've had a lot of talk lately about volume controls, resistors and L-Pads, look in the mod threads. Sounds to me like the 3 position switch is in the loud position, most people are having touble with trim pots failing when the switch is in the loud position. Try looking around in the middle of the back of the machine. Try to follow the speaker wires or wire bundle back and the switch (if one) should be in that general location. There are 3 symbles for soft, medium and loud. soft looks like a cross section of a bell with a clapper, Loud looks like a cross section of a bell with out clapper. That's about the best I can discribe the symbles. There are several lucky members who are having success with the trim pots with the volume switch set to soft. I prefer to use L-Pads which are made for attenuating the volume level between the amp and speakers.

not 100% sure but try on the left hand side of the frame as you look at the back if i can remember rightly its on the edge of a bord as aposed to flat and facing you so the slider would be facing the wooden frame as aposed to facing out towards you

The volume control on that machine is located on the front. Open the glass door. There is a little metal lever that open the bottom part of the front. It is there that you will find the volume control.
