    Default Barrett Jackson Auction

I sure enjoy these auctions, especially since it is from Scottsdale, AZ. I graduated from Coronado HS in Scottsdale back in the 60s, btw. Anyhow, I do register to bid on these auctions via internet, but the prices have gone right through the roof this year. I like the cars under $50K personally, but those are only the shown early during the weekdays. Cheapie cars.

This evening we are seeing a $5,000,000 Shelby sold and several more cars over a mil. ALL the cars now seem to be going close to 1/2 million.

This auction is on Speed Television cable and continues through at least tomorrow. Today it was on for about 10 hours. They auction the coolest cars anywhere and it is a lot of fun to watch if you are into this.

I watched it a little bit. Saw a Mustang "Boss" go for $550,000.

Been there done that two different years.

It is ok but last year it was so crowded it was ridiculous. It is best to view it on TV.

Looks like Scottsdale is about to lose it tho as this last friday's newspapers reported that they can't come to an land agreement as it is getting so big and BJ is wanting more land from Scottsdale (too many million dollar homes can be placed on that land so it will probably get turned down).

Those car perfectionists with their expensive vehicles that have rarely seen rain are being hauled up on stage all wet. It's been raining in Scottsdale nearly every day.

I click it on when commercials are on the channel I'm watching for a laugh.

I could put a hemi (for $12K) in my 67' Fury and bet it would get $60K.

People actually bid their cars up so that they say that it got $300k on the auction and did not meet the reserve then sell it to someone else for $350K when the car is not work $100K. They can also back out of the deal and can pay the auction house % and say that it sold for what the auction price was without even selling it.

Actually, I think all the cars at this auction were outright, no reserve sales. In the past, I used to see a lot of reserve-priced cars, but not this time.

I was being general about auctions. But no reserve would be new this year. They did have them last year.

I was watching on early Saturday evening and the cars' selling price was through the roof. No reserves needed with those high bidders. (People were sucking down cocktails, partying, etc. haha!) Then on Sunday morning, they were selling the same cool vehicles from other sellers at 1/2 or much less than the evening before. No party atmosphere then. It would really tick me off as a seller to get stuck early in the morning if that trend was typical.
