Those are fast! I have a version of that with a smaller hopper (holds only about 2,000). Use it for tokens and all the loose change I bring home from in the truck (usually amounts to about $100 by the time I make it home). The standard units can be found a lot cheaper.

i would think if you were to put power an old hopper and put a counter on the output from the counter sensor. you could build one like this for about $25.00

You rock BB!!!! I never even thought about that. I have a machine sitting on the floor in a dark corner of my parents' basement that is dead and none of the vendors seem to want/ be able to help.

Counting scale will also work for large amounts of tokens or balls.New for about $100-200 one on Ebay

I have tried different sets of scales and it just doesn't work for me. I have about 11 different style tokens and 9 of them have different weights....

We used counting scales for years for screws, studs, small items. if it was off a bit it mattered not. Consistent parts are required. I have not tried tokens so I have no idea how much they vary from one lot to another. Sorry I posted with out testing this specific application first. I made the assumption that tokens would be consistent enough.

the weight does vary, but i use the same type tokens in each machine, i don't mix them.

regular tokens, brass, copper and bimetal do weight slightly different.

I use a postal scale, I count and weight a hundred. then just match weight for the rest.

I use a scale all the time for counting. I keep all my bi-metals on one machine and the silver used ones on the other machines since their weight is slightly different. It's extremely accurate to weigh them. I have a diet/food scale that weighs in grams and it works great for both the tokens and spheres.
