Default Some questions about Horror Mansion

Hi all! this is my first post here, so I am sorry for anything lengthy. I just also got my first pachinko machine, Horror Mansion, and love the thing. I also have to Pachislo machines. I am working on my collection slowly.

Anyway, I had three big questions about the machine and was hoping anyone with the same machine could tell me some things. I have gotten to bonus and many different scenes so far, but have never seen the flippers open on the start gate ever, Does something set them off, or maybe I am missing something. Next is the two gates on either side of the start gate, slightly lower, where the ball would just pass though, do they do anything?? One of the gates has a sensor, the one on the right side is empty, is it missing or do they all have it missing? Lastly, do you happen to know what any of the connectors labels say. i can't figure out how to scan and translate the stuff, and was curious on the external connector of it.
Just for some info, i am in the process of doing the pinouts for the db25 connector, usually for the card reader, because i want to make a ball counter that would display on the built in LED dispay on the front. Anybody with thoughts on that too, let me know. Thanks for listening to my babble.

Thanks for the tips! I will follow those thoughts. Actually I did try that and the one gate is for the banking of the flipper. Thanks!

pocket across from the dummy one is there to run a subroute that can get you faster into a bonus rounds. you will stack 4 of these opening up and the game opens as it wishes for a second or so.

One of the gates has a sensor, the one on the right side is empty, is it missing or do they all have it missing?

The right side is the dummy

Lastly, do you happen to know what any of the connectors labels say.

    No don't speak japanese

The pin out is listed on the board and a member was working on the same thing as you want, he (daverob) is in the UK.

Congrats on a great looking game. I have been eyeing that one too ever since Eddie mentioned it in a post a while back. After you play it a while give it a review in the museum. And welcome to pachitalk !!

    Firstly, welcome to Pachitalk.

The Card reader connector pinouts are in this thread, http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14992

The LED displays are common anode and have a 330 ohm resisitor in line with them. In the card reader emulator I'm working on I am driving the segment inputs directly from 5 volt logic outputs (with no external current limit resistors), and using a PNP transistor to the 5 volt supply for the digit commons.

With regard to the Japanese writing on the connectors, post a clear picture of them and I'll see if I can translate them for you.

Okay, here are some shots from the back of the unit. Hopefully someone might have an idea.
I am pretty sure the two yellow stickers are for the cell and case external contacts, but was hoping to know which was which. otherwise there seems to be a key list for the trouble LED's on the MB. Anybody?? Thanks.pachinkowords (1).jpg

the battle counter plugs in to them, and it gets volts from it's own transformer

The 1st picture refers to "The Frame External Ouput Terminals"

The 2nd picture refers to "The Cell External Output Terminals"

The 3rd picture I'm not sure of.

The 4th picture refers to "Bonus 1 - Bonus 2 - Starter Spins - Prize Ball" in the same order.

The Cell outputs are typically as per the 4th picture and are tied to a data/battle counter as Arby has stated. These are a standard for most modern Pachinkos, unless they are "Cash" machines.

Many cells have additional switches for things like an upper and lower starter gate counts and an additonal bonus, etc. It really varies by manufacturer and model series.

These output switches are optically isolated and are passive, relying on the monitoring equipment to provide a voltage.
