The pair he had up for auction were for nail bending. I presumed that a pair designed for pulling nails would be different.

After pulling only a half dozen with a pair of pliers wrapped in cloth to protect the nails, from one of my vintage machines, my hands were very ripped up and red. Those little suckers don't ever want to come out.

There was a custom vintage pachinko, I think on ebay, a few years ago.

I think it had a Spiderman (the movie?) theme....I think there is an old dead link in the vintage section, but no pic!

Sorry to hear about your hands. I would need to have an easier way to pull/twist nail if I undergo the vintage re-face.

Maybe a bit of WD40 will keep the paint and the clearcoat off the nails.

Nice thought but it would never work the pins would disrupt the flow of paint
and the splatter from hitting the pin heads would not make for an even design. Covering all of the pins evenly without drips would take many numerous coats with extremely light spray. Unless everything background pins etc were painted one color it would be impossible unless of course you would go for a 20th cent art piece like a Pollack . Also paint on the pins would most likely come off and be all over the play field and get stuck in the works.
