    Talking Re: Lassen World

Well as many of you already know my son got me a Lassen World pachinko machine for X-mas this year. It just arrived this past Thursday. After getting it unpacked all I can say is, "This game is FREAKING SWEET". Let me apologize now my photos do not do this game justice.

What makes this game so great you ask? Well, where to start is the hard part. The main frame the game is in is not made of wood, it is an aluminum alloy. There is absolutely no torking like you get with the wood frames. The front is a nice silver/brushed aluminum color and the colors on the cell are just amazing. The wave near the top of the cell changes colors during play. It is one of the first machines I’ve owned that I’m just as mesmerized playing then when I am watching the stuff going on in the back of the machine.

There is plenty to watch while playing the game from the changing colors of the wave and water, to the rotating bubbles in the center of the cel. Then there is all the stuff that is being shown on the LCD screen. Personally I like the under water area the best.

The first night my wife and I were playing she got a fever. It goes by way to fast. After she went to bed, I installed the sound controllers. Had to test them to make sure the machine wasn’t too loud any more and wouldn’t you know? I got two fevers in under an hour. Since we’re still playing it on the floor I stopped filling the pay out hopper and would just switch the ball trays from front to back when I ran out of balls. It does eat them up fast. Even after I adjusted the nails I figured out that after playing a full tray of balls it would pay out less then a quarter of the balls back. This was after I adjusted the nails to make it easier to win. This must have been one tight machine when it was in the parlors. The machine does give out reaches like they were free.

Saturday morning when I got up I figured I would spend the day cleaning her up. Boy did she need it. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had to clean way worse vintage machines. Well I couldn’t just start cleaning I had to play for a little; you all know how it is. My wife sat with me; help move balls around because in the first hour of playing I had four fevers. The poor little pachinko game must have been lonely for a long time because at one point they started one after the other. I spent the rest of the day cleaning her up and making her look real pretty. I think I should have left her dirty. Since I finished cleaning her I have yet to get another fever on it.

I am going to try to put together a playing guide of sorts for it. There are a few things on the cell I’m not sure of yet but once I figure them out I will start writing it up. Not sure if I’m going to do it as a web page or a PDF file yet.

A special thank you need to go out to Lddrizzt. If he hadn't posted the great videos of this machine being played I would have never given the machine a second glance.

    Sweet looking machine!

I was amazed at the videos that Lddrizzt put up on that machine.

Let me first start by saying thank you to Delgrieve, I stole his format for rating and writing up a new machine.

    Vendor- Panchinko

Price - Excellent! It was a Christmas gift to me from my son. He won it on e-bay for $149.00 without shipping

Transaction - Good. Not a lot of contact from Panchinko. We did get a tracking number from them but only after it was requested. Sorry guess I’m spoiled by other sellers who send it right after shipping material.

Shipping Fair - Poor. Paid for the machine right after close of auction on 12/15/2006, took until 12/28/2006 to get it.

Packing - Bad. The packing was almost non-existent. The entire machine was wrapped in bubble wrap with a cardboard insert covering the glass and was put in a sturdy cardboard box with only five small peanut bags. There was a large hole in the up corner of the box. Not there fault but caused a problem later.

MachineGood-Fair. The front looks great. There were no major scuffs on the plastic frame. One of the wooden legs on the bottom was snapped in two and the transformer was floating loose in the box. Besides the transformer all the pachinko balls came out of their packaging and were also loose in the box. Was supposed to get 500 ball with the machine but because of the hole in the box it was only around 300. When I opened the front of the machine to closely inspect the cell the glass fell out of the frame into my lap. The pins that sit in the hinge were snapped off. The cell wasn’t filthy but was in need of a good cleaning. The tracks in the back of the machine were gross. Not nearly as bad as some of the vintage machines I’ve purchased but it still took me a few hours to dismantle and clean. I don’t really hold that against them, I would have dismantled and cleaned it anyway.

Overall Conclusion - I am happy with my machine. They were extremely helpful with getting me the replacement parts. From what has been written by others here, it sounds like they have improved there packaging which was the main cause of most of the problems. Their prices and merchandise are still better than some that are out there selling on e-bay. I’d buy from them again.

I SORRY, when they send a FILTHY Machine That is BAD. And not worth the rate you give them. Maybe if it was sold for $50 and said a clean up special.

How do these vendor get by with this ? I try it and I would be fully ashamed of myself.

By reading your report I would rate them a low 3, because you got something.

    Wink Re: Lassen World

Yea but anything compared to one of your machines every one would only rate a low 3. Except maybe a vintage refurbished by me that is. :lol8: Your diligence and dedication are greatly appreciated by every member who has or will ever by anything from you. Unfortunately you’re like that really smart kid in the class that blows the bell curve for everyone else.

I now have two modern machines from two different vendors (Neither were valleygaming) and both had ball tracks in the back that needed a major cleaning. I just presumed at this point that if it can’t be easily wiped with a towel it would need to be cleaned by me. Maybe I’m being a soft touch but after I cleaned them up they ran beautifully. It’s better then some of the horror stories I’ve read here.

Yes, I just can't see how they get by with not doing it.
The easy way to open and clean the inside would mean also less problems down the way, it would be cost effective.

    I just don't see . . . . . .
