I expect that a good few of them are the collectors that prefer cyclic machines, as the dongle isn't going to be as much use to them as the rest of us.

As Stuey seems to have given it away already, I though I'd better mention that most of the beta testers have now got their sample dongles, and so far the response has been very positive. Thanks to everyone who offered to test the sample units for me, I'm only sorry that I wasn't able to send one out to every one of you.

Between myself and the rest of the beta testers, we are in the middle of testing that the dongle works correctly in more than 100 machines from 17 different manufacturers and in 30 different frame styles (and a Palot!). So by the time these dongles are on sale, we should be pretty confident that they'll be compatible with pretty much all of the CR enabled pachinkos out there.

Talking about sales , I'll be ordering the production PCBs later on this week, and so if everything goes well I expect to have the first units for sale at the beginning of April.

I'm still not that keen on offering pre-orders. If I have already received money for them, then I will feel obligated to work on them, and I prefer working on this project at my own pace. Besides it looks like I've got a little bit of real work coming up, and I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone if the schedule slips a bit because of it.

I'm hoping to have quite a few units built up, tested, and ready for sale on the official release date (whenever that might be ). Mainly because I don't want to sell any until I've put a couple of the production units through at least a weeks worth of stress testing (ie 24/7 of high temperatures, maximum loads, voltage tolerance limits etc). So I'll have a bit of time to assemble a few while I'm running these tests.

Though going by the results of this poll, if everyone that's interested places an order on the release date, then there might be a little backlog to catch up with.
