Well that's the deal I've been waiting for. A cell of some interest in a Lumina case at a decent price!

This will give me a second Lumina case to use with 4 total cells. Swapping around cells will be even better now!

    Hay Tulsa,

Why Swap Cels? and if you do, don't you have to swap all the innerds in order for the machine to work?

Well you swap cells to keep the cost down, keep the footprint down and it only takes 2 minutes to do it. Yes, the cell is the "innerds" that you swap.

It's only a matter of a few plugs and a few clips and the cells swap right out.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

but I can't just swap my LOTR with STAR WARS cell, I would have to swap all the boards as well, basically, all I'd be swapping is the front case.

    Sorry,

Maybe I'm not understanding the benefit of swapping just the cell.

Well first those are two different cased machines. You can't swap them.
You need to find games that will fit in the same case as your LOTR. Once you have cells, they take up less room and are usually cheaper than the whole machine.
When swapping a cell, you are removing the wooden play field and The boards that are specific to that game and attached to it, leaving behind the the generic boards and ball handling system.
Here are pics of my Batman cell front and back.

    batsft.jpg batsbk.jpg

As you see there are only a few boards attached to it. These are usually all that have to be changed out (on this particular case there was a game specific sound board that needed changed also, but most cases it is attached to this cluster on the back).

Overall it saves space and money to have cells to swap out for your particular case.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Youngjedi - This is what I have just done. I have a Star Wars pachinko & I have recently ordered a "Julie" cell & "Indy" cell and hopefully they arrive on Tuesday (the wife is buying them for me for Christmas).

When you can get a lot of popular models that use the same frame as with the Lumina frame, the options you have really increase.

    Hmmm... Good thread.

Well, after buying 3 Pachislos, I am considering my first Pachinko.

I've read a bit on cell swapping and it sounds very appealing since right now I have limited space. I seen a lot of good things on SW, Yamato, and Julie - which are all interchangable - correct? My kids love to play the Pachislos esp Mach Go Go Go. Any suggestions on Pachinkos they might like as well?

There was a thread where DaStooge put a link to Yahoo Japan Auctions where cells were for sale. Anyone remember where that post was. I have a friend in Japan (I guess everyone here does ) that I have traded toys with for many years. Recently I've had him pick up Pachi related items (accessories). I've thought I might ask him about cells. I think they are still heavy and may cost a bit to ship but not as much as a machine... If this is not a good way to go, does anyone know of a good place to get cells.

As always, Thanks for the info. James (Delgrieve)

What do cells usually cost. This cell swapping thing never really interested me, but now there are so many that I want and no space. Cell swapping makes sense

As vendors don't generally offer cells that I'm aware of, you can call Arby or Arby..

Arby and Doc are our number one sources for cells at the moment.

Does anyone have there extra cell hooked up to an electrical harness like I've seen in the Yahoo Japan auctions so they can display the cell? Does it work nicely? US current?
