I was lucky enough to be in Tampa when the first night launch of the Shuttle took place in 85. I was across the state from the launch site and could see it clearly, the fire plume rising into the sky. It was beautiful!

I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a launch while en-route to Disney World one year...it was a beautiful thing.

You might beable to see the replay by going to the web site. They are running a live feed of what is going on during the shuttle mission. They do rerun footage from earlier in the day during slow spots.
