Fedex is raising their rates as well. Don't have my notice with me but the website indicates that express will be going up 5.5%. DHL and USPS won't be far behind

IMO UPS is already extremely high, last time i went to have a machine shipped they wanted around $130 compared to DHL's $65

DHL I don't trust, I have use them and they have moved the small boxes to the post office and resent them there the cheapest rate too!!.

The shop next door sent thru them 4 hummer wheels from my shipping building. Had the guy pick them up there, filling out the paper work, he said the cheapest rate there. He gets a hit by mail some $524 bill for overnight shipping of his wheels.
They even tried to collect from me, because it left from here, I told the guy to have innercourse with himself.

So I will wait till they grow up more, atleast around here.

I had good luck with DHL on the "blowout sale".
There was one package that they claimed to be "oversize" (it wasn't) and tried to bill me an extra $35 for it... but they were easy to talk to, and helped me file the dispute online, right from my account. They canceled the extra fee, then.
Shipping is just getting out of hand for these things.

They averaged about $20-$25 less than UPS at the time, plus their pickup fee was a LOT lower... maybe a few bucks or so.
Fastest carrier, too. PA to CA in 4 business days.

My deliveries from DHL have not been real "professional" in that they even pulled in with personal pickups/SUVs. But, everything I've received has been undamaged and fine.

I'm glad I ran accross this thread. I was thinking about using them after the trouble I had with USPS shipping the last machine.

I shipped thru Cavalier years ago they sent a 20' truck to pickup an envelope, I razzed the driver he said it was the smallest truck in the fleet, insurance did not cover if they used their own truck.
