    Default The level Playing field

    Hi All,

I was hoping to get your opinion, insights, or just a clever rant...

With a pachinko machine hanging on the wall (I have two), is it better to have the machine perfectly level top to bottom? Or, should it 'lean' back a hair.

I pose this for the following reason. When I play my LOTR, the balls fall through rather quietly. However, When I play me Star Wars, I can hear the balls 'clicking' the glass. It's perfectly level, should I lean it back a touch? I don't want to give the cell any excessive wear.

    Thank You,

Good question, youngjedi. I would say tilt it back just a tad.

I think it should be level front to back and side to side for best play.

My Fever King id tilted slightly back and sometime the balls by the screen don't want to roll into center pocket.

That's what I'm afraid of...changing the way the ball bounces. Especially with star wars. the balls that go in front of the screen need to come forward if they don't make it into the start pocket. If I lean it back, they may get stuck.

I assume they were designed to be played as level as possible! I leveled my Palot and Pachinko machine from more than 16 places. I didnt level just
by the frame as I think the frames are far from square from the playing surface.

I put a bubble level on the play field...it's exact. I wonder if there is a majority of nails that are bent down. The Star Wars gets almost all it's play on the left, and all that heavy traffic could, I guess, change the nails...I will look into it.

I used a laser/bubble level on my machine and as with your StarWars the "Clicking" Sound increased. I tried tilting the field back a few degrees and the sound was quieter with the balls hitting the glass with less force but the gameplay became less neutral.

I would have thought that these Games were designed to be played perfectly level?

Wouldn't it be a time consuming job if they had to adjust them all differently in the Parlours?

But now you have given me something else to ponder over........

Parlors set the machine by cell face from 1 1/2 degrees to 3 degrees.
now which is best ? I personly think 1 1/2 degrees.
Oh glass hits; this is mostly caused by the angle of your nails.
