Wow... If you haven't tried skype yet, you gotta try it out. Talked with DrC and Tony Jr and some other this morning. Way too cool. This is going to be a great addition to this forum. It is nice to have voices to put with the avatars and pictures!!

Yeah, this Skype is great! Can't wait for others to get into it!
Logicprobe explained that on your USERCP page, under Profile, near the bottom is where you put your Skype name. I, and a few others, added our names there.
On Skype, my name is TonyJunior1...I couldn't believe someone already had Tony Junior.

We've got about 12 people or so already that have shared their Skype contact info with me.

Folks are meeting in our "room" on their own when there is no "official" conference, and that's GREAT!!!

Skype is truly amazing! If you have not tried it, get it. I got my headset today and tried it. Talked to logicprobe, dattia, tony junior, luckydog(no headset yet, chat only)and barry. Nice to hear the voices to go with the names. The clarity was very good and surprised me. Try it, I think you will like it. By the way in skypke I am minnesotabrad as well, it was not taken yet.

It doesn't work with satellite. I could hear everyone (downloads on satellite are fast and good) but was unable to talk.

Uplaods (talking) are the speed of dialup. That's the way it works.

Looks like there is a little glitch, but Logic is working on it. I think we need to stay out for now. Logicprobe will update this, I'm sure.

While it's being un-glitched, let me tell you about the video part. For those who have a webcam, it's Great! the video is the fastest and cleanest i've seen. My friend and I restore Antique slot machines, and when we need to share some info, we use the video feature. We also use the 'send file' feature too. Works great. The best thing...it's free. I haven't paid a long distance bill in two years! ( I have had Vonnage for a year now also, and for those who have a high speed internet...it's great. I saved over $60.00.

I am not endorsing any of the above products, this is just my opinion from one gadget person to another.

I downloaded a few pictures today on it with no problem, the whole setup is very painless

You just have to get used to how it all works.

even when i'm not dialed in, i get a box coming up by the bottom of my screen saying someone is on skype

I think that is because we tried to pull you into a chat. You were listed as still online, even though you were not in the conference. You must "Quit" Skype to be off-line. I think
