O Yamato vs Dai Yamato

Shot in the dark here... Anyone know anything about the differences in these games. I saw pics of them in the museum and know they are different - O Yamato made in 2003 and Dai Yamato in 2005. I know the Dai Yamato has the video screen for the bonus game and have seen footage of it in play but have not seen anything on the O Yamato. Any help would be appreciated. James (Delgrieve)

Well I almost bought the 2003 model till Gaku suggested I might not like it. I have no clue about the 2005 model.

Well I was going to get the 2005 model but it was pretty scratched up. Gaku offered me the 2003 model (Mint) in its place. He suggested I would be pleased with it.

On one hand the 2005 model has a bigger LCD screen, better looking cabinet and a couple years of tech advancements... On the other, I am getting a Yamato game with characters from the show I remember (2005 model is kind of like Next Generation compared to the Original Star Trek) so it has the sentimental value to it and getting an older (harder to find?) Pachislo. Although the cabinet colors are a bit weird looking.

I am sure I will be pleased with my first purchase! Now that I have the sentimental favorite coming I need to work on the getting Super Black Jack - It looks too fun! James (Delgrieve)

There really isn't a O-Yamato and Dai-Yamato, this error comes from the fact that the kanji character (大) that precedes Yamato (ヤマト) can be read differently depending on its position in a word.

Anyway, they both comprise the Daiyamato series and, though they look and play similarly (the newer one having more bells and whistles and play modes), sport two different ROMs.
